Q&A: Bakersfield Beauty Blogger

Wednesday means that the week is almost over! A couple of days ago, I hopped onto Instagram and asked my audience if they would love to read a Q & A and most of them said yes! If you would like to be a part of those polls, make sure that you are following me on Instagram.

Now let’s jump in and get to know the girl in Bakersfield just a little bit more!

What primer do you use for a matte look?

I am in love with the Rimmel Stay Matte primer! It’s the best and super affordable.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because, I needed some sort of creative outlet that I could be myself and really express my passions.

What was your main inspiration?

My main inspiration was honestly YouTube beauty gurus. I loved watching all of the beauty videos and all of the beautiful women getting to be their selves. I wanted to start a channel of my own, just needed something less intimidating. Then I thought to myself, duh! A blog is less scary, but still gets my message out there!

What advice do you have for a beginner blogger?

My advice to you would be to find your own style and consistency is key. When you are blogging, blog for yourself, cause it won’t be fun if you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Another tip is to use your tags! If you are trying to gain followers, those are how people are really going to find you. I can keep going trust me!

What is your favorite vacation destination?

I love going to the beach! I could live there if it wasn’t so damn expensive!

What is your favorite TV show?

I am so in love with Once Upon a Time! Hook is gorgeous and I love all of the fairytales! I am also loving Riverdale and Fuller House for sure.

So many great questions! Thank you all who asked me and wanted to know a little more about me. If you would like a part two, go ahead and leave some questions in the comment section.

Remember to stay confident!

Fashion Friday: Blogger Babe Series

Fashion Friday has made its way back around! Hello doll, today I have another blogger babe for you to get to know! I really hope that you enjoy these posts. I enjoy interviewing these lovely ladies and getting to know them a little better than what the internet lets me. Let’s get started! Today we are meeting Jasmin Schelling, she is a blogger babe with some serious style!

What/who has inspired you to start your blog?

I followed a lot of bloggers on Instagram and just loved what they did and was super inspired. Also, a lot of my colleagues and friends were just non-stop asking me, when I would start blogging. So, one day I was trying to sell a skirt on Facebook and all those really mean people started to insult me – how I dare to wear this skirt, how fat I look and how a beautiful girl like me could just mess up her whole look with this skirt… That just ruined my whole day, I was so hurt and sad. But instead of just hide, I started to write about my experiences with Trolls I made my whole life. And this is when I started blogging.
All those haters and meanies inspired me to start blogging. I didn’t want them to hold me back, I’m f***ing beautiful and I’m f***ing sexy and I want to inspire all the other girls and boys, women and men that it doesn’t matter how they look and what other people say: Just be your beautiful SELF!

How long have you been building your brand?

I started blogging in August 2015 and I’m slowly, but constantly growing.

What is the next step for you?

The next step would be to grow and grow and grow and to keep having fun! It is still a hobby of mine, but maybe one day I can earn money with it.

Who is your biggest role model?

My Mama, always and forever. Strongest woman I know.

Do you have a routine when it comes to posting?

I do not have a routine. I post on Instagram and my blog whenever I want and feel like it. It still has to be fun and I do not want to fall into a routine yet.

Would you say that blogging has changed your confidence?

Most definitely yes. I feel so much more confident about me as a person and about my body.
This is an advice I would give anyone, who is struggling with their self Stand in front of a mirror and look at yourself, what do you like most about yourself? Do it daily and I bet you will find something new every time. Also, let someone take photos when you feel most confident about yourself, with beautiful makeup, hair and clothes, print them and hang them in your apartment. It works miracles!

Do you travel? If so, where are going next?
I would like to travel a lot more than I do now. I travel a lot for work but only in Germany, which is interesting but not my kind of travel I like. My next trip is hopefully around Christmas/New Years Eve. But I do not know where yet. And I would like to do a round trip by car through Scotland around Eastern.

Which topic is your favorite to blog about?

My favorite thing to blog about is everything that goes through my mind: I wrote some essays about body positivity and women’s rights. I learned most about myself and others when I wrote those texts.

What is your drink order from your favorite place?

I’m a Gin&Tonic girl through and through, so that will always be my go-to-drink. Preferable Bombay Saphire or Hendricks Gin with Fevertree Tonic Water and Cucumbers!

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color will always be red. Right now I totally go nuts for yellow.

Who is your biggest supporter?

My family is my biggest supporter in everything I do: Blogging, work, studying, going abroad…

Who is your favorite blogger?

My favorite bloggers are the power women from Blogger Bazaar (http://www.blogger-bazaar.com/) and the f***ing awesome Luciana from Luziehtan (http://luziehtan.de/de/)

How would you describe your style?

Bold and beautiful, individual, fun!

If you could collaborate with any brand in the entire brand in the world, who would it be?

Ouch, that is a hard question! I really, really like H&M, but so often they really suck when it comes to plus size! Same goes for ZARA. I think I would go with Zalando tough. It’s an online shop with lots of brands and I love them.

As always, if you would like to be apart of the blogger babe series, please email me.

Stay Confident.

The Perfect New Years Eve Party Dress!

Hello you gorgeous person, I hope that you are here to get inspired. Today I am bringing to you a fashion post! I am seriously in love with this dress!! As soon as I laid my eyes on it, I knew that I had to have it. This dress is perfect for a New Years Eve party, or just a party in general.

Some of you may think that this is a lot of sequins, and you are probably right. Two years ago if you would of told me that I would be wearing this dress, I probably would of laughed in your face. It’s a good thing that my outlook on fashion has changed. I’m not afraid to stand out, you shouldn’t be either. I live to sparkle and shine, and I won’t let anything stop me from doing so.

I would like to give a special thanks to Trina for collaborating with me on this post. You are seriously amazing and I love you so much.

This gorgeous dress is from Charlotte Russe, if you didn’t already know, they have a plus size section. I am so in love with all of their clothes, they have a great price range and they fit! My dream is to one day become a model for Charlotte Russe, seriously. What a dream come true right? Imagine becoming a model for your favorite clothing store. ugh…I can see the cameras flashing now. Charlotte Russe, if you are reading this, I am interested! I don’t know if you can tell.

This dress is the “Plus Size Sequin V-Neck Bodycon Dress”. Originally $42.99 and now on sale for $30.09. There is also a  gold and a silver color. I personally love the maroon better.

I love the way that this dress just compliments my curves, it’s not too tight, but tight in all of the right places.

My tights are from Torrid and my booties are from Charlotte Russe.

I would like to thank Trina once again. I love you so much! She is an amazing photographer,  you can check out her work here!

Casual Wear

Monday, did you sigh when you read that? I did when I wrote it. Let’s not let a word like that get us down. Today I have a more casual look, something laid back, and really bringing out the Bakersfield in me.

Boots are the best thing to wear in Bakersfield. Boots and some cute jeans, paired with the right top.

My hometown is a lot of dust, dirt and bad air quality. I love it and you couldn’t pay me enough to leave it.

Top: Charlotte Russe

Jeans: anywhere, these jeans are all over the place!

Boots: Boot Barn

Looking cute, feeling comfortable and smiling are my three favorite things. This casual look let’s me do all three at the same time!

I don’t know the proper name of these jeans, but I call them sparkly butt pants. Has a ring to it, doesn’t it?

Here are some tips on proper boot care!

Taking care of your leather shoes will help them last longer and save you money!

Come check out some trendy cowgirl boots and some loyal cowboy boots!

My weekend!

Hello everyone! I hope that you all had an incredible weekend, I know that I did. Today that is what I am going to share with you guys. I hope that you enjoy this post and feel free to follow now so that you don’t miss out on any upcoming blog posts!

This first fun even that happened this weekend was that I was able to cross “get a third meaningful tattoo.”off of my 2016 g0als list! I got this matching tattoos with one of the best person I know. She is so amazing, she is the one person that knows everything about me from head to toe. She is my Aunt Cindy! Do you have that one person that you know was made just for you? Well she is that one for me. Elephants are our thing, so when I seen this tattoo on Pinterest, I knew that this was the one! It hurt like crazy, but so worth it. Here is a picture of her and I a few years back at stagecoach. Beautiful inside and out.

Brian (my fiancé) and I did something a little different this weekend. Normally we talk our dog (chacka) for a walk in our neighborhood, instead of doing the same routine, we went to a lake! Us and a few family members packed an ice chest full of water bottles and Gatorade and drove out to Lake Ming. It was so beautiful, so green, fresh air and so many beautiful faces. We walked around the entire lake and let the dogs play in the water from time to time. We all had a blast, so we agreed on every Sunday heading out to the lake and doing the same thing.  It’s nice to get out and do something a little different, it keeps you interested and sometime you may have a different perspective on life. This was a great place to enjoy my family and relax, I can’t wait until next Sunday.

In my last post, I had mentioned that I had found a plus size website and that I had purchased a couple of items from them. Well my clothes came in and I thought that I would update you on what I think! I bought a dress from them and a shirt. I first want to say that I love there style! Being “plus size” it is hard to find clothes that actually fit me and are also cute. Society+ is a website where I found both! They are a little expensive but they are always having different promotions and they make up for it. The first item that I fell in love with is a shirt that has the words “no edit no shame” on the front. Here is a picture of me in it.  Another thing I would like to mention is to not be afraid of purchasing these online. I know that online shopping can be a hassle, especially if the clothes don’t fit. Buy the size that you normally would buy, there sizing isn’t weird. I have gone to stores and picked up a shirt and thought to myself “there is no way in hell that this is a 2x!”. When Society+ says 2x, they mean it!

The last item that I purchased was a beautiful lace dress!  I fell in love with this dress as soon as I laid my eyes on it! I love the way it fits, great quality and love the belt that it came with. This dress is perfect for spring and very comfortable! Right now they are having a 25% off sale on all dresses! I would catch it while you can. You can check out both of these items right Here! Please let me know your  thoughts on this brand and what you have purchased! I would love to hear any suggestions you have and if you have anything specific you would like me to purchase and give you my thoughts.

Well that is all that I have for you guys! I really hope that you all enjoyed this post! Please follow, comment and like! If you would like to do a collaboration please email me at kelseydawnprovencio@gmail.com
