Product Review: Beauty RX Exfoliating Pads

Another day, another skincare product! Hello there, Today I am here to give a review of these Advanced 10% Exfoliating Pads. They are from the brand Beauty RX. Stay tuned to read what I have to say!

Product

This product is an exfoliating pad that is supposed to remove dead skin cells, brighten dull skin, and even texture. It contains 10% buffered and PH-adjusted glycolic acid. It also says that it is paraben free, fragrance-free, and dermatologist tested. It comes with 50 exfoliating pads that are supposed to be used on alternate nights. The product also says that it can be used on all skin types.

Price

On the website, these exfoliating pads run for $70.00 for a one-time delivery. I think that the price is pretty standard for a high-end skincare item. I know that I would pay that much for something to brighten and even out my skin.

Packaging

The exfoliating pads came in pretty standard packaging, it is easy to access, the overall look of the product is clean and simple. I love it.

Overall Thoughts

I am going to rate this product 5 out of 5 stars. I have been using the exfoliating pads for a little while now, and I believe that it is delivering everything that it promises. It is fragrance-free, I feel as if my skin is brighter now that I have been using it, and so much use comes out of one exfoliating pad. I love this product! The product does have a tingling sensation to it and I would not recommend using this product on open sores, because it will burn like hell. I also feel like there is a lot of product for the price point. All in all, I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone that is in need of some great skin! I am happy to show a before and after photo in a few weeks! Keep a look out for that on my Instagram. If you have any questions about this product, please leave them in the comments.

I hoped that you enjoyed this review and I hoped that it helped!

Product Review: Rodan +FIELDS & GIVEAWAY!

If you don’t already know, the key to good makeup application is great skin. Your face is a canvas, if you have the right tools, your painting will come out flawless. For today’s Makeup Monday I have a Rodan +FIELDS product review and giveaway. My friend Laura and I will be giving away 5 mini facials, so stay tuned!

In order to figure out what kind of treatment I needed, Laura, sent me a solution tool so that she could send over the proper samples!

I received the travel sized version of the Reverse Brightening Regiment.

The travel size comes with four steps:

  • Deep exfoliating wash
  • Intensive brightening toner
  • Dual active brightening complex
  • Broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen

Bonus:

Microdermabrasion Paste

Being someone that wears a lot of makeup, I need that intense exfoliating feel, so that I know my skin is being cleaned. I am also someone that has a lot of discoloration and some dark spots. The toner and brightening complex will help to reduce those problems. We all need SPF in our lives, it is the most important part of skin care!

My first thought when I received the products in the mail is that the travel size has a pretty fair amount of product. I love the simple yet bold packaging. The white makes the products look clean, while the yellow is bright, in your face, and refreshing.

Deep exfoliating wash:

While testing out the deep exfoliant wash, the smell was incredible, I am a sucker for an orange scent, and that is exactly what I got! I received the deep exfoliate feeling just as promised, it really made me feel like I got every inch of makeup off of my face. A clean face is a happy one!

Intensive Brightening Toner:

This toner has a tingling effect, which I love, that helps me to know that the product is actually working and cleansing!

Dual active brightening complex:

This contains retinol to help keep the pesky breakouts away. It feels so soothing and applies so smoothly.

Broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen:

This sunscreen is a thick consistency, it has a hint of a sunscreen smell, but not too overpowering. SPF is a great product to have on under your makeup. The sun ages you, protect the skin!

All in all, I would rate Rodan + FIELDS products a 5/5. Trust me when I say that you need it in your life.

THE DISNEY TAG

Oh my goodness! I can’t tell you how excited I was when I found this tag! This is so perfect and so fitting for me. For those of you that don’t know, I am a huge Disney fan. I love all things Disney, I take all of the Disney quizzes on Facebook, the whole shebang! My mind is still blown that I came across this tag on twitter! I love it!

FAVORITE CHARACTER: Dory from Finding Nemo. Who doesn’t love her. Did I mention that the Ellen plays the voice of Dory????

FAVORITE PRINCESS: I would have to say Jasmine or Ariel. Tough call.

FAVORITE HEROINE: Merida for sure. She goes after what she believes and she is just so brave. No pun intended!

FAVORITE PRINCE: Shang from Mulan. Best looking prince by far.

FAVORITE HERO: Prince Eric, hands down.

FAVORITE ANIMAL: Pastel, the little thing from Tangled. He is just so adorable.

FAVORITE SIDEKICK: Tito from Oliver & Company. He is just so hilarious.

FAVORITE VILLAIN: Maleficent, I LOOVVVEE Maleficent the movie. It shows the good side of her and really explains why she is a villain.

FAVORITE ORIGINAL CHARACTER: The Aristocats. A great classic and family movie.

FAVORITE LOVE SONG: Love is an open door, (Frozen). I don’t like the fact that the cutest love song ever was a duet with a villain, but I will get over it.

FAVORITE SONG: Stand Out by Power Line. If you have never watched “A Goofy Movie”, go now.

FAVORITE VILLAIN SONG: That would have to be Mother Knows Best by Mother Gothel.

FAVORITE KISS: Max and Roxanne.

FAVORITE CLASSIC: I am going to keep referencing A goofy Movie, because it is my favorite.

SONG THAT ALWAYS GETS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD: Hakuna Matata.

FAVORITE PIXAR MOVIE: Inside Out, it is just so adorable and real.

LEAST FAVORITE MOVIE: Dumbo. It may be because Dumbo gets drunk and sees a bunch of pink and purple elephants? Or that his moma gets beat and separated from him. I don’t know, just not my favorite.

FAVORITE SEQUAL: Finding Dory, baby Dory is just so cute.

OVERRATED DISNEY MOVIE: I don’t think that any of them are really overrated to be honest.

UNDERRATED: The Great Mouse Detective, it is such a good movie.

MOVIE THAT MAKES YOU LAUGH: The Aristocats and The Emperor’s New Groove.

MOVIE THAT MAKES YOU CRY: UP! Oh my gosh, I remember the first time that I watched that movie, I balled my eyes out!

SADDEST SCENE IN YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE: I would have to say that the saddest scene in A Goofy Movie is when Max yelled at Goofy at Lester’s Possum Park.

SADDEST DEATH: Bambi’s mom. Tear..

FAVORITE QUOTE: “You’re only a fool if you give up.” -Aladdin

FAVORITE THEME PARK: I have only been to Disneyland in Anaheim once, and it was for grad night.

FAVORITE ATTRACTION: Never rode one.

FAVORITE SHOW: This question isn’t really specific, so if we are taking about shows at Disneyland then it is the Firework show. If we are talking about shows on the Disney Channel, then they are Hannah Montana and That’s So Raven.

We have reached the end! I had so much fun answering these questions. They were a lot harder than you think! Feel free to do this tag and pass it on!

Disclaimer: I found all of the pictures on Google.

Anti-Valentine’s Day Makeup

Dah dah dahhhhhh!!!!

Hello there, if you are reading this post, then obviously something caught your attention. Could it be the makeup? Or the fact that the title has the word ani in it? Well whatever it may be, I am glad that you stopped by!

Welcome everyone, I have created an anti-Valentine’s Day makeup look for all of you! I have been seeing this look being created all over YouTube. I had never seen this before this year and thought that it looked very interesting.  I hope that you enjoy it, if you have already created a version of this, I would love to see it! Make sure to tag me on Instagram @bakersfieldbeautyblogger.

If you want to figure out how I got this makeup look, then keep on reading!

For this eye look, I used two eyeshadow pallets; one being the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eyes pallet, and the other being the Urban Decay MoonDust. I just love both of these pallet, you can create all kinds of looks! If you don’t have either of these pallets, you can still create this look as long as you have some brow, black, and glitter eyeshadow!

This look is really easy, but it contains a lot of blending and is very time consuming. I do have to say that this look may seem scary, but don’t knock it until you try it! There is always a first time to try something new.

For any eyeshadow look, I like to start out with a light brown shadow in my crease, once that is blended out, I will slowly start to add black shadow on top of that brown. I make sure and  only apply a little of the black at a time. It is a lot easier to build it than to take it away.

Once the black shadow is to my liking and blended out, I am going to add the white shadow to my brow bone to give it a little pop!

Next I am packing on the glitter shadow of my choice to my lid. I am also being very careful when applying it. Glitter tends to get EVERYWHERE! I am sure that I am going to find glitter in my room two months from now.

Once I have the glitter as intense that I want it, I am going to wing out my liner.

Now it’s time to move on to the lower lash line. Since this look is very dark and mysterious, I added black liner in my water line. Then I took some black eyeshadow and ran it right underneath that liner.

I also took that same white shadow that I put on the brow bone, and popped it into the inner corner of the eyes. Since the eyeshadow is so dark, I want to brighten it just a little.

Once that is complete, it is time to throw on some lashes and get them ready for falsies.

Now it is time to pop on some false lashes and BAMM!!! I look good!

My choice of lip is LipLand Cosmetics “Retrograde”. This lip color is very dark and gives a meaning to the whole anti look!

I would like to thank you for reading this blog post! I am sorry that I have been away for a little while, life just keeps me busy. I love you all and will talk to you in my next blog. Xoxo.

Skin Care Product Review

Ahhhh!! Back with another product review post! I love these types of posts, I get to try out new products and fall in love! Today’s feature is from a brand that I have reviewed in the past. Tara Lee Natural Beauty, is an amazing all natural, skin care line. All of her products are sold on Etsy. I reviewed her Charcole Clay Mask. AMAZING. If you would like to read that, I will leave that right here for your enjoyment!

I love makeup, but skin care is just as important! Taking care of your skin, helps keep the canvas that we paint; nice, clean and smooth! I have tried out just a few of the many products that are available in Tara Lee’s shop. I will have all of these products linked, so that you can try them out yourself!

Packaging:

I would love to start this review by saying, the products come very well packaged! They are in plastic tubs, twist off lid, and are extra sealed with tape for the traveling. That way, when you receive your products, you don’t have to worry about any of it being spilled out.

French Green Clay Mask:

This mask comes in a poweder form, you mix with a little water, and then apply to the face. I love the fact that it come as a powder. I feel like the product won’t be wasted that way. Sometimes when the clay masks are already mixed, they can dry out fast. If you don’t properly close the lid, or of you leave the lid off for a long time, it tends to harden faster. The scent of this product isn’t too overpowering, which I love, that way you aren’t too scared to wear it because of the smell.

I like to apply this mask when I am cleaning my house, I call it multi-tasking!

Whipped Scub:

I have the Herbal Whipped Salt Scrub and the Whipped Sugar Scrub. I love scrubs in general, but the Whipped Sugar Scrub is my FAVORITE! It smells like lemon cake batter, I love lemon cake. It contains coconut oil, so it doesn’t dry out your skin. It’s a scrub, so that means that it exfoliates. It is just an all around great product!

The Herbal Scrub is just as good, the only difference is that it contains herbs. When you first open the product, you will find the herbal smell, and a small amount of the herbs right on top!

The cool thing about these scrubs, you can choose the color that you want and the ounces!

Sea Kelp Mask:

This is an Organic Sea Kelp Mask, or a seaweed mask, and it helps to purify the skin. This mask has the same concept of the others, you mix it with water and then apply to the face. You can also customize the masks to your liking. There are some extra add ons and different ingredients that are available. I leave the mask on until it is completely dry and then wash it away with warm water. No redness, just a clean smiling face! Again, what I love about her products, is that the scents are not too over powering.

There are 31 different items to choose from in her shop. Next I want to try out her Strawberry Sugar Scrub and the Eye Brightening Makeup Remover!

Tara has been so kind and has give me a discount code to share with you! If you use “TARALEEBEAUTY” at checkout, you don’t have to pay for shipping! I know that you are just dying to try these products out! I hope that you enjoyed this product review and if there are any more products that you would like for me to test for you, just let me know!

Christmas Gifts: DIY Version

Yay! I love the holidays! Time for family, baking and gift giving. Obviously that isn’t the meaning of Christmas, but those take up a big part of the season. Today I am sharing two DIYs for the holidays! One is a cute and very inexpensive gift, and the other is a simple festive treat!

DIY Coffee Mug

We are going to need:

  1. Coffee Mugs
  2. Sharpies

This is seriously the easiest gift ever! I picked these up at the dollar store, but if there is some laying around the house, those will also work. I love the gold rings around the rim, I felt like it gave the gift a little extra something.

Next, just create any design on them. Then we are done! Told you, easy and cute. Great idea for any occasion.

If we want to take it up a notch, we can throw in a packet of hot chocolate and add a cute bow!

Cookie Pops

This DIY isn’t as easy as the first one, but it’s a no brainer.

We are going to need:

  1. Cookie Dough; this one was 3$ at WalMart
  2. A baking pan
  3. Parchment paper
  4. Popcycle sticks or cake pop sticks
  5. Sprinkles

Before we do anything, we have to make sure that our hands are washed. Seems obvious, but there are some people out there that don’t. Once our hands are all nice and clean, it is time to preheat the oven. Read the cookie dough package, mine says 350 degrees F. Next, I covered my baking pan with parchment paper.

While we are waiting on the oven, this is our time to get the cookie pops ready!

Step One: Roll cookie dough into small balls. Making sure that we have a small amount of dough, other wise the cookies are going to be too big. The purpose is for them to be pops, not crumbles and a stick.

Step Two: Roll the cookie dough in the sprinkles. Mix it up! Use different colored sprinkles!

Step Three: Stab cookie dough balls with the sticks!

Step Four: Place cookies in the oven when ready.

Make sure and set the timer! 11 minutes seems about right.

Once the timer goes off, let the cookies cool in the pan for about five minutes and then they are ready to eat!

Enjoy!

Simple and perfect! Happy Holidays everyone!
