4 Must Have Makeup Palettes

Happy Makeup Monday! I hope that your liner is winged to the gods and your lipstick is on point. Today I am sharing my four favorite makeup palettes that I can’t live without! They are perfect for fall and have a multi-purpose use!

  1. The Kay Von D Alchemist Highlight Pallet. This pallet is an intense highlighting one, but it is the perfect inner corner highlight for the eyes! It makes you look like your eyes are glowing.
  2. The Urban Decay Naked Heat Pallet. I’m sure that you have heard of this bad boy before, especially if you are a makeup lover like myself. This gorgeous pallet has all of the warm tone shadows that you will ever need for fall. It is seriously the best!
  3. The Morphe X Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Pallet. This little baby is a dream come true. It has a nice mix between cool and warm tone shadows. So many different looks can be created with this pallet.
  4. The Tartelette in the Bloom Pallet. This little guy is your perfect everyday eyeshadow pallet, but if you have dark hair like me, a couple of these shades can double as eyebrow powders. I love a twofer!

You can never have enough makeup palettes!

Let me know if you would like to read a part two! I would be happy to post it for another Makeup Monday!! Let me know if you have any of these and which ones are your favs!

Stay Confident.

Product Review: Rodan +FIELDS & GIVEAWAY!

If you don’t already know, the key to good makeup application is great skin. Your face is a canvas, if you have the right tools, your painting will come out flawless. For today’s Makeup Monday I have a Rodan +FIELDS product review and giveaway. My friend Laura and I will be giving away 5 mini facials, so stay tuned!

In order to figure out what kind of treatment I needed, Laura, sent me a solution tool so that she could send over the proper samples!

I received the travel sized version of the Reverse Brightening Regiment.

The travel size comes with four steps:

  • Deep exfoliating wash
  • Intensive brightening toner
  • Dual active brightening complex
  • Broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen

Microdermabrasion Paste

Being someone that wears a lot of makeup, I need that intense exfoliating feel, so that I know my skin is being cleaned. I am also someone that has a lot of discoloration and some dark spots. The toner and brightening complex will help to reduce those problems. We all need SPF in our lives, it is the most important part of skin care!

My first thought when I received the products in the mail is that the travel size has a pretty fair amount of product. I love the simple yet bold packaging. The white makes the products look clean, while the yellow is bright, in your face, and refreshing.

Deep exfoliating wash:

While testing out the deep exfoliant wash, the smell was incredible, I am a sucker for an orange scent, and that is exactly what I got! I received the deep exfoliate feeling just as promised, it really made me feel like I got every inch of makeup off of my face. A clean face is a happy one!

Intensive Brightening Toner:

This toner has a tingling effect, which I love, that helps me to know that the product is actually working and cleansing!

Dual active brightening complex:

This contains retinol to help keep the pesky breakouts away. It feels so soothing and applies so smoothly.

Broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen:

This sunscreen is a thick consistency, it has a hint of a sunscreen smell, but not too overpowering. SPF is a great product to have on under your makeup. The sun ages you, protect the skin!

All in all, I would rate Rodan + FIELDS products a 5/5. Trust me when I say that you need it in your life.

Some fun facts to know about Rodan +FIELDS :

  • R+F is the #1 skincare brand across all price points developed by the doctors who created Proactiv
  • They target four main skin concerns: sensitive skin issues, sun damage/hyper pigmentation, acne, and anti-aging.
  • All products come with a 60-day empty bottle, money back guarantees.

Ummmm, has anyone else realized that Fourth of July is around the corner? For those of you who do not live in the United States, July fourth is the day that America declared it’s independence! We celebrate with fireworks, pool parties and barbecues. Most of show our pride by wearing the colors of our flag and listen to great songs about our country. So in honor of our celebration, I have created a fun and¬†patriotic makeup look for all of you! I had a ton of fun coming up with this look, it took me a couple of tries to figure out what I wanted, but I finally did it. This is a very bold day or night look, but don’t be scared to give it a try. I hope that you all enjoy this post, as much as I enjoyed putting it together. If you have already created something similar, I would love to check it out. Leave the link in the comments and I will give it some love. Now let’s get started with the good stuff.

Before I applied any face makeup, I created my eye look. This blue eye shadow got all over the place! If you choose to apply your face first, be very careful, you don’t want to look like you got attacked by a smurf. I like to apply tape underneath my eyes to create a sharp, crisp line. If you are confused when I say apply tape, I will leave a link explaining that. I am horrible with explanations, you can check that out on my¬†Pinterest.¬†From there, I created a wing with a blue eye shadow, feel free to use a blue eyeliner if you have one. It might be easier to apply, but I don’t own a blue liner. I should really get one, it would have made things a lot easier. Anyway… The next step was applying that same blue shadow in my crease, for those of you that are not comfortable, feel free to skip that step. My “winged liner” kept transferring ¬†to my lid so I went ahead and placed it in the crease. If you can’t beat them, join them! Once that you have blue all over the place, I applied some false eyelashes, just to glam the look up a little. I feel like falsies can make or break a make up look. They just give so much life to your creation, it is unreal!

OK, so now that you are satisfied with the blue and are out of your comfort zone, it is time to apply the rest of your face. My face consists of; moisturizer, concealer, foundation, setting powder, bronzer, blush, highlight and eyebrows. I have a post on the products that I use on a everyday basis, I will leave the link to that¬†here.¬†Once I completed my usual face stuff, I felt like this look needed a little more jazz to it. I took a glittery liquid liner, this one is from E.L.F, I applied it to the tops of my cheek bones like a highlighter. I feel more like myself now. Ahh, sparkles! If glitter doesn’t make you happy, you are not considered a human, I don’t know what you are.

Now for the fun, yet most complicated part of this look as a whole. The application of red lipstick, try to keep it on your lips and off of your elbows. If you accidentally get it on other parts of your face (or body), like I do every time, just cover it with a small (or a large) amount of your foundation. I used a liquid lipstick from Colourpop and a CoverGirl gloss on top. After that you look more patriotic than ever before! You can sing a little a song, preferably a Toby Keith one and feel free to do a little dance. Now put on your party clothes, change outfits at least two more times and then go have fun! I got this cute top at Charlotte Russe in the Plus Size section. They had American flag tops and all kinds of patriotic fashion items there! Cute stuff and amazing sales, you will thank me later.

Thank you all for reading this post, I hope that you liked it. Remember this is a fun look, not my everyday look, so please be nice. If any of you recreate this look, I would love to see it! Please tag me on Instagram, Twitter, wherever! I love you all, until next time!

The Unforgettable Makeup Look

I feel like Mondays should be dedicated to blogging. Monday is a day that I don’t want to do anything else aside from getting a post up for all of my beautiful readers. I just want to thank you all for keeping me interested and excited to create new fun looks for you all. I appreciate every single one of you.

Today I have created a look that can go two completely different ways. Same eye look, just two different lip colors. One very bold and the other is very light and fresh. This look I would definetly say is a night look, but if you really don’t care and are ready to step out of the box, you can rock this face any time of the day.

The Kat Von D Shade and Light Eyes Pallette

Blue Sephora Single Eyeshadow

Face wise I went full coverage, I’m talking color corrector, foundation, concealer and even a little baking under the eyes. For those of you who don’t know what I mean by the term “baking”, I will leave a Video explaining the entire thing!

Don’t forget to contour and highlight! If we are going all out, we need to make sure that we don’t skip one step. We need to look at flawless as possible, even if we look like something from a Tim Burton Movie. If you would like to see a post dedicated entirely to contouring, please let me know in the comments and I will be sure and get that up for you.

For my crease I used every single brown shade in this pallette. I’m not kidding, I started with the lightest shade, worked that into my crease and then moves on to the next. Feel free to make this look as dark or as light as you would like. I didn’t go in with any black in the crease, I saved that for the bottom lash line. I just want to put this out there for those of you that are unaware of how important this is, BLENDING is key. Make sure that all of your makeup is blended. I mean of corse if you like the choppy look, then have at it!

Once you get the intensity to your liking, I went ahead and winged out my liner. This step depends on your personal preference, like I said I went all out, so the wing was a must for me. My wings are far from perfect, but I am learning and getting better each time that I practice.

Now for the fun part! Your bottom lash line is going to be the main focus on the eyes. I took a black coal liner and smeared that baby all over, I even took it down to my lashes a little. With a very small brush I picked up the blue eyeshadow and smudged out all of the black. I went crazy and really went heavy with the black and blue. Just keep smudging and going back into the blue until you are satisfied.

Once you are happy all you have to do is apply mascara and even pop on some eyelashes. I didn’t apply any lashes because I wanted to show you all that makeup looks can be just as gorgeous without false lashes.

Now for lip options; Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Echo and Kylie Cosmetics in Heir.

If you are brave enough to rock the blue lip, I would say to go for it! If not a very light color lip would look just as amazing. Try something new every once in a while. You may be surprised at all of the different looks that you can pull off. I will have the link to both of these lips down below, be sure and check them out. Thank you for reading, please remember to follow me and like this post! Stay Amazing.
