  1. The Kay Von D Alchemist Highlight Pallet. This pallet is an intense highlighting one, but it is the perfect inner corner highlight for the eyes! It makes you look like your eyes are glowing.
  2. The Urban Decay Naked Heat Pallet. I’m sure that you have heard of this bad boy before, especially if you are a makeup lover like myself. This gorgeous pallet has all of the warm tone shadows that you will ever need for fall. It is seriously the best!
  3. The Morphe X Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Pallet. This little baby is a dream come true. It has a nice mix between cool and warm tone shadows. So many different looks can be created with this pallet.
  4. The Tartelette in the Bloom Pallet. This little guy is your perfect everyday eyeshadow pallet, but if you have dark hair like me, a couple of these shades can double as eyebrow powders. I love a twofer!

Product Review: Rodan +FIELDS & GIVEAWAY!

If you don’t already know, the key to good makeup application is great skin. Your face is a canvas, if you have the right tools, your painting will come out flawless. For today’s Makeup Monday I have a Rodan +FIELDS product review and giveaway. My friend Laura and I will be giving away 5 mini facials, so stay tuned!

In order to figure out what kind of treatment I needed, Laura, sent me a solution tool so that she could send over the proper samples!

I received the travel sized version of the Reverse Brightening Regiment.

The travel size comes with four steps:

  • Deep exfoliating wash
  • Intensive brightening toner
  • Dual active brightening complex
  • Broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen

Microdermabrasion Paste

Being someone that wears a lot of makeup, I need that intense exfoliating feel, so that I know my skin is being cleaned. I am also someone that has a lot of discoloration and some dark spots. The toner and brightening complex will help to reduce those problems. We all need SPF in our lives, it is the most important part of skin care!

My first thought when I received the products in the mail is that the travel size has a pretty fair amount of product. I love the simple yet bold packaging. The white makes the products look clean, while the yellow is bright, in your face, and refreshing.

Deep exfoliating wash:

While testing out the deep exfoliant wash, the smell was incredible, I am a sucker for an orange scent, and that is exactly what I got! I received the deep exfoliate feeling just as promised, it really made me feel like I got every inch of makeup off of my face. A clean face is a happy one!

Intensive Brightening Toner:

This toner has a tingling effect, which I love, that helps me to know that the product is actually working and cleansing!

Dual active brightening complex:

This contains retinol to help keep the pesky breakouts away. It feels so soothing and applies so smoothly.

Broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen:

This sunscreen is a thick consistency, it has a hint of a sunscreen smell, but not too overpowering. SPF is a great product to have on under your makeup. The sun ages you, protect the skin!

All in all, I would rate Rodan + FIELDS products a 5/5. Trust me when I say that you need it in your life.

Some fun facts to know about Rodan +FIELDS :

Product Review: L’Or√©al Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise

Happy Makeup Monday! One quick question, if you could only choose one makeup product to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be? If it’s mascara, you might want to go pick this one up! I love mascara, and this one just knocked more than half of them out of the park. Today I am reviewing the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara. The color that I picked up is blackest black.

The tube is pretty heavy duty, a chic light pink look. Just simply gorgeous! The wand is pretty big and reminds me of the Better Than Sex mascara from Too Faced.

The mascara isn’t a wet consistency, it’s not dry, I feel as if it is perfect.

Moment of truth:

I rate this mascara a 5/5! It’s pretty amazing, as you can see for yourself. It gives me so much volume, length, and color payoff.

Have your tried this mascara? If so, do you like it?

Stay beautiful.

Makeup Monday: LipSense Review

Oh my goodness! I am sure that you have heard of LipSense before, right? Well if you haven’t, I am here to tell you all about it. Basically it is this amazing liquid lipstick that is known to last for up to 18 hours! I know, crazy huh.

When I received my starter kit, it came in an adorable little mesh bag. It had a color liquid lipstick, a gloss, and an oops remover. It also had the application directions in it. It retails in the US for about $55.00, and you are about to find out if it was worth it or not.

This product is all about application, if it’s applied correctly, the longer it will last. You can find this product mostly online, there are tons of distributors.

Apply three thin layers of color, not letting your lips touch. After color is dry, apply gloss, and then you are ready for your day!

When I applied my LipSense, it had a tingling effect to it. I did some research and it does that to dry lips, so make sure that your lips are nice and moisturized before the application.

This product claims to be:

  • Waterproof
  • Kiss proof
  • Smudge proof
  • Rub off proof

Basically everything proof!

Believe me when I tell you that it is!! My color lasted 8 hours and it looked fabulous at the end of the day! My husband hates when I have lipstick on and he can’t kiss me. With LipSense, he can kiss me all day without a worry that he is going to have red lips himself.

Overall I rate LipSense a 5/5, I am even considering becoming a sales consultant! Let me know if you have tried LipSense before and how you feel about it.

First Impression

The Colossal Spider Effect, Volume Express, Waterproof mascara. Whew! Isn’t that a mouth full? Today I wanted to give my thoughts on this new product and let you know if it does what it claims. When I seen the commercial, I thought that it looked amazing! It gave the model very long, spidery lashes. It claims to have a certain type of bristles that will group your lashes together to create the spider effect. Being the makeup junkie that I am, I purchased it. I also really needed a new mascara, I was pushing the last one to the LIMIT, so perfect timing. Now, without further ado, here are some pictures and thoughts on The Colossal Spider Effect.¬†

This is how the product came, your standard Maybelline packaging. It was around $7.00, pretty decent price for a drug store mascara. I picked up the color Classic Black and I always make sure to get waterproof. I love the outside of the bottle, the yellow is eye catching and the black spider web on the wand handle is straight to the point.

When I first opened the mascara, I could see the little cup bristles that was described. It has the cone shaped handle, so very easy to grip. The actual wand is wide on one side, it is bigger at the top and gets smaller as it gets closer to the bottom. When you turn it wand side ways, the wand gets thinner.

When I first applied the product, you would have thought that today was the first day that I ever wore makeup. Super messy and just got all over the place! I know that when mascaras are new, most of them are runny, but this was more runny than any mascara I have ever used. When I am in a rush, I don’t have time to clean a ton of mascara off of my face. I want to apply and go. Yes, there will always those days when you need everything to go right and it does just the opposite. I get that, but come on now, not right off the bat! With that being said, I don’t feel as if it gave me a spider effect at all! I don’t know if I may be applying it wrong or what, but the whole thing was a disaster. However, I will give it another chance, maybe ¬†I need to apply it a few more times to get the gist of it. I refuse to throw products out that have sucky first impressions. So maybe after a few more applications, I will like the product even more, you never know. I can’t tell you how many times I have HATED a product the first time I tested it, just for it to turned out to be the best product in the world. Never give up on something, no matter what it is, just after the first try. Life can sometimes surprise you.

As for length, it gave me a little, but not like I was hoping. I will say that it did give me plenty of volume, I can always use some of that for my baby lashes (the struggle is real). Here is the application compared to my natural lashes, a difference, but not by much.

So, for my final rating of this product I would give it a 2/5. It was messy, but it did give me better volume and I liked that. It did say on great throughout the day, I haven’t noticed any transfer. Let me know if any of you have tried this mascara, maybe I am doing something wrong. I need to know your secret!! I hope that you enjoyed this first impression, I really liked making it and plan on creating some more. I am also planning a Fourth of July makeup look. If you have any request, be sure to leave them in the comment section. I would like to thank all of you for reading this post, it means the world to me to know that people actual care about what I have to say. I love you all and greatly appreciate you. Once I hit 300 followers, I plan on doing a giveaway, so make sure that you are following me!

    Affordable Valentine’s Day Look¬†

Hey my lovelies!!!!! Today I am doing a collaboration with PaigeAlicia! She is an amazing blogger, on her blog you will find a highend Valentine’s Day Look. Feel free to go check it out and tell her that I sent you! You can also go follow her on Twitter: @paigealicia1997. If you have just happened to find yourself on my blog and haven’t yet followed, you should! You don’t want to miss out on all of the fun stuff we talk about over here. So before this is too long, let’s jump in!

Priming the face I went with the NYX Angel Veil skin perfecting primer. This is an amazing primer and I picked up all of these products from my local drug store. Foundation I took this amazing Wet n Wild Coverall cream foundation. This stuff means it when it says coverall. I still can’t believe I only paid 2$ for this bad boy! For concealer I went in with two different brands, I started with the instant age rewind and places the master concealer over top for a better coverage.
To set my face I took my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Poweder! I use this everyday that I wear makeup! I can’t stay away from it.
Contour I went in with this middle shade at the bottom and went to town. I went all out and really contoured, this is the NYX contour kit. Usually I don’t do this step often but I feel that it is Nessecary for an awesome special date like Valentine’s Day.
To give the cheeks a little color I took this blush from ELF and just lightly added this in above my contour and a little on the apples of the cheeks. Make sure to go over everything with your powder brush to blend and to make sure you don’t have any harsh lines. Blending is very important with any makeup look.

Before I highlight I like to put on my brows, this is a very affordable brow kit from Ardell. I used the darkest shade in this little quad. The little stick is a wax, make sure to apply that before the powder. This just keeps the hairs from having a mind of their own.
This highlight was recommended by a good friend of mine, you know who you are. I absolutely love this guy and it only cost me $6. Great pay off, especially if you get your brush just a little bit wet. Highlight where ever you feel the need. I always go crazy with this stuff! I like to hit above my brow, tops of my cheek bones, cuspids bow and down the bridge of my nose. If that’s too much just start out easy, no pressure!
For eyes I just took a little bit of the same contour color and placed it in my crease just to give my eyes a little bit of definition, then my favorite part of the whole look, the wing liner! Make sure that wing is sharp enough to stab somebody! We have to look super fly so I went a little more dramatic with my wing than I usually do. This is a NYX liquid liner, it works like a dream! After that I applied a little bit of mascara to prep my eyes for false lashes.
Falsies, no other, Ardell Demi 120. I mean, need I say more?
For the star of this show, Red Revolution! This is the gorgeous, red, creamy, amazing lipstick! This was about $5 and is worth every penny. Great color pay off and very long lasting!
This finishes the look and with the perfect outfit you are all ready for your Valentine’s Date! Make sure to carry the lipstick in your cute clutch for later touch ups!

Thank all of you babies for reading my blog! Let me know what you think and don’t forget to follow!

    Purple Overload

Happy Sunday lovelies!! I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I didn’t post yesterday so I thought I would makeup for it today. I have this purple overload look I created and then I will post all about how I dye my hair! So without further ado, let’s get started.

    • Before I did anything, I sprayed my face with the SmashBox Photo Finish Primer Water. This is going to hydrate your face and get it ready for all of the makeup that is coming.
    • I started with the eyes because I am working with pigment and it can be very messy! I primed my lids with Mac paint pot in soft ochre. Make sure and cover your entire lid.
    • To set that, I used a light shadow called Snow Angel. This shadow is from the Too Faced Joy to the Girls pallet.
    • Out of that same pallet, I took cookie dough and applied that in my crease with a fluffy brush.
    • For the lid I took Urban Decay in Flash and sprayed my brush with a little Mac fix +
    • Over top of that, I sprayed my brush again and picked up a purple glitter pigment. I applied the pigment in the same spot I applied Flash. This is going to make the purple stand out a little bit more. I used Mac’s Fuchsia. (Holiday collection)
    • To blend the crease and lid colors I used Kat Von D’s Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Danzig. Connecting the crease and lid just blend, blend, blend. We don’t want any harsh lines.
    • For brows I went with Ardells Brow defining kit.  This is amazing and affordable. I picked mine up at CVS.
    • Foundation I used Loriel True Match in the shade Natural Buff (N3) and I used my real techniques sponge to blend.
    • For conceal I used my tried and true Maybeline Super Stay Better Skin. I love this stuff!!! I used in under my eyes and any place I had blemishes.  My color for this concealer is Ivory.
    • I set my foundation with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 020 Nude Beige.
    • Blush and contour I went with Elf’s St. Lucia. Great colors and only $3!
    • To wing out my liner I applied the NYX glam liner and in my water line I used a black liner from Buxom.
    • On my bottom lashes I went in with a mixture of Morphe’s Radience and the Kat Von D Danzig. Just to give is some color and smoke it so it all looks even.
    • To prep my lashes for falsies I applied Wet n wild mega length mascara. For my bottoms lashes, I used NYX color mascara in purple.
    • Falsies I applied Elf lashes, just the natural kit. These are also $3.
    • To highlight my face I used Becca Moonstone. Absolute favorite highlight shade.
    • Finally, for lips I used Mac’s Heoine! A beautiful purple shade. I have a blog on my top 3 Favorite Mac Lipsticks, feel free to go check it out!

And that’s all! You’re done! If you recreate this look I would love to see it! Tag me on Twitter (@kelseydawnprov1).  Thank you for reading! Please like, comment and follow! I follow back!
