5 Goals for Instagram

I have been on Instagram for over four years now. In that time, my style and interest have shifted dramatically. Today I am sitting down to let you in on my new goals for Instagram. These are goals that I believe will help to grow and inspire those that follow along with my life.

  1. I like to constantly set new goals for myself to see what I can achieve. As of right now, my follower count is at 3,417. My number one goal is to get my follower count to 5K. Yes, I do understand that my follower number isn’t what matters the most, but it feels good to know that my Instagram is growing.
  2. My second goal is to try something new. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the lack of time that I already have, so I don’t always get to try different things. I am going to make it a priority to go visit new places and have photoshoots at times that I typically wouldn’t.
  3. Another Instagram goal of mine is to post on my story at least once a day. I know that people are looking at stories more now than they are posts on the grid.
  4. Becoming more steady with posting. Sometimes, as I said before, time slips away from me. Then before I know it, it has been 4 days since the last time that I shared anything with you. I’m going to push myself to become more consistent with everything on Instagram. Taking photos, posting, and interacting with more people and brands.
  5. My final goal for Instagram that I’m going to share with you; is to become more inspired and roll with it. Sometimes I forget to just take a minute for myself and live in the moment. The only way that my Instagram can thrive, is if I also thrive.

To wrap up this post, I just want to thank you for reading along and taking a look into my Instagram goals. I encourage you to sit down and write 5 of your own goals for whatever you would like to achieve. I am going to turn this into a series and call it my 5 Series. I know, typical, but whatever works.

If you are not already, make sure that you are following along on my Instagram. Send me a message and let me know that you came from the blog. I love meeting and chatting with new people.

10 Must Follow Instagram Accounts

I am not sure if it’s the double taps, or the fact that the layouts are so intriguing, but everyone seems to be infatuated Instagram (including myself). I am constantly on the popular page just looking for new accounts to stalk.

You really loved when I posted all about my favorite bloggers to follow, so I thought that I would do a spin off post from that. Today I have 10 Must Follow Instagram Accounts for you. If you already follow some of these people, we are that much closer to becoming besties.

Blogger Babe Series: Lizzie in Lace

This interview has been a long time coming. Today you are going to meet one of the biggest role models in my social media world. She is an amazing blogger, her Instagram is on point, she works her ass off and it is paying off 100%. Please meet Elizabeth Hugen, the lovely lady behind the brand Lizzie in Lace.  Lizzie is the sweetest person that you will ever meet, I can’t wait for you to get to know her a little bit.

What/who inspired you to start your blog/ Instagram?

I started my blog because I needed a creative outlet away from my non-creative day jobs and because after many failed attempts and roadblocks, I wanted to give my dream of being a fashion designer one last shot before giving up completely. It also stemmed from not being completely content with where I was in my life at that time. I felt that I wasn’t living up to my full potential and although I was going through the motions of what you are supposed to do, I still wasn’t feeling fulfilled. I decided that the only way that I was ever going to be happy was to go against what everyone else thought I should do and just do what makes me happy and what I am passionate about. My passion for fashion runs deep and has been the driving force in creating a life that I truly love. My Instagram account came afterward and even though I started with absolutely no followers because I thought Instagram was ridiculous, it has grown into my largest and most cherished platform that I absolutely adore. As funny as it sounds, I can honestly say that this social media platform has completely changed my life and given me the chance to live out my fashion dream.

How long have you been building your brand?

Two and a half years

What is the next step for you?

My next step is to make this my full-time job….my only job. I have always worked 2-3 jobs at the same time, including now and would love to have the freedom in having this as my only job. I feel like it would be so incredible to have a career that I enjoy, am passionate about and that I can give my all to!

Who is your biggest role model?

LOVE Lauren Conrad!

Do you have a routine when it comes to posting content?

Yes! I feel like routine and consistency are the most important aspect of having a blog. I post every MondayWednesday, and Friday on the blog and usually twice a day on Instagram.

Would you say that blogging has changed your confidence?

Actually no, this is something I am still working on. I’m surprisingly insecure and have never been super confident with myself, but building this from nothing shows me that I can do anything that I set my mind to if I’m willing to put in the time and effort. Seeing just how far I’ve come has given me confidence though. It shows me that some risks are worth taking and that it pays off to never give up on your dreams.

Where do you plan on traveling next?

I’ll be in New York for the first time next week to attend Fashion Week! AHHH!

If you could collaborate with any brand in the entire world, who would it be and why?

I actually have a “blogging bucket list” full of brands that I would love to work with. I have already crossed off a couple of those, but the ones I am shooting, for now, are Kate Spade, Dior, Rebecca Taylor and Zimmermann (among others) because they are my absolute favorite brands in the entire world.

What is your drink order?  (From anywhere and anything)

Probably a strawberry lemonade or green tea.

Who is your biggest supporter?

My husband, for sure! When I was left without a photographer, he took it upon himself to help me out because he knew how important this was to me. We have both learned photography from scratch and are still learning every day. He decided to start taking it more seriously so we upgraded to our first DSLR and the rest is history. What started out as just snapping a few photos so I could get my work done turned into an undiscovered talent and something that he truly loves doing. I’m so excited to see how much he flourishes in the future!

Who is your favorite Instagrammer?

Aside from @juliahengel, I love @amelialiana! Her feed is absolutely beautiful!

Who is your favorite blogger?

Julia from Gal Meets Glam is my absolute favorite ever. I feel like she’s my style spirit animal.

How would you describe your style

Feminine, romantic, whimsical, colorful, put-together. I incorporate a lot of pinks! 😉

Ummmm, has anyone else realized that Fourth of July is around the corner? For those of you who do not live in the United States, July fourth is the day that America declared it’s independence! We celebrate with fireworks, pool parties and barbecues. Most of show our pride by wearing the colors of our flag and listen to great songs about our country. So in honor of our celebration, I have created a fun and patriotic makeup look for all of you! I had a ton of fun coming up with this look, it took me a couple of tries to figure out what I wanted, but I finally did it. This is a very bold day or night look, but don’t be scared to give it a try. I hope that you all enjoy this post, as much as I enjoyed putting it together. If you have already created something similar, I would love to check it out. Leave the link in the comments and I will give it some love. Now let’s get started with the good stuff.

Before I applied any face makeup, I created my eye look. This blue eye shadow got all over the place! If you choose to apply your face first, be very careful, you don’t want to look like you got attacked by a smurf. I like to apply tape underneath my eyes to create a sharp, crisp line. If you are confused when I say apply tape, I will leave a link explaining that. I am horrible with explanations, you can check that out on my Pinterest. From there, I created a wing with a blue eye shadow, feel free to use a blue eyeliner if you have one. It might be easier to apply, but I don’t own a blue liner. I should really get one, it would have made things a lot easier. Anyway… The next step was applying that same blue shadow in my crease, for those of you that are not comfortable, feel free to skip that step. My “winged liner” kept transferring  to my lid so I went ahead and placed it in the crease. If you can’t beat them, join them! Once that you have blue all over the place, I applied some false eyelashes, just to glam the look up a little. I feel like falsies can make or break a make up look. They just give so much life to your creation, it is unreal!

OK, so now that you are satisfied with the blue and are out of your comfort zone, it is time to apply the rest of your face. My face consists of; moisturizer, concealer, foundation, setting powder, bronzer, blush, highlight and eyebrows. I have a post on the products that I use on a everyday basis, I will leave the link to that here. Once I completed my usual face stuff, I felt like this look needed a little more jazz to it. I took a glittery liquid liner, this one is from E.L.F, I applied it to the tops of my cheek bones like a highlighter. I feel more like myself now. Ahh, sparkles! If glitter doesn’t make you happy, you are not considered a human, I don’t know what you are.

Now for the fun, yet most complicated part of this look as a whole. The application of red lipstick, try to keep it on your lips and off of your elbows. If you accidentally get it on other parts of your face (or body), like I do every time, just cover it with a small (or a large) amount of your foundation. I used a liquid lipstick from Colourpop and a CoverGirl gloss on top. After that you look more patriotic than ever before! You can sing a little a song, preferably a Toby Keith one and feel free to do a little dance. Now put on your party clothes, change outfits at least two more times and then go have fun! I got this cute top at Charlotte Russe in the Plus Size section. They had American flag tops and all kinds of patriotic fashion items there! Cute stuff and amazing sales, you will thank me later.

Thank you all for reading this post, I hope that you liked it. Remember this is a fun look, not my everyday look, so please be nice. If any of you recreate this look, I would love to see it! Please tag me on Instagram, Twitter, wherever! I love you all, until next time!

April Favs!

Hello everyone! I would like to start this blog post by saying thank you to all of you! I have just recently reached 200 followers. You are all amazing and I couldn’t thank you enough. You following means a lot to me. I really wish that I could see everyone that reads these posts. Wouldn’t that be cool? In this post I am going to share with you all a few of my favorites! These are favorites everywhere from skin care, makeup products and everyday life situations. I hope that you all enjoy reading my favs just as much as I enjoyed writing about them! So let’s jump right in.

My first favorite of my entire life is going to have to be my event and wedding planning business!! I have been dreaming about creating my own business for a really long time. About a year and a half ago I got up the nerve to sign up for an even and wedding planning corse. I passed all of my lessons and finally received my certificate.

After I received my certificate I began thinking and trying to decide who I wanted to apply and work for. After a couple of weeks of looking up businesses and thinking long and hard. I decided to start my own! Why work for someone else when I can be my own boss? So, I came up with Loving Plans and my name and have created a logo, Facebook page, a T-shirt and some business cards. I have never been so excited about something before. Loving Plans has so far helped decorated for a quinceniera and have been a day-of coordinator for a wedding. Here are some some pictures of my logo!

I’ll leave the link to my Facebook page Here. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think. I would greatly appreciate some feedback. Now, let’s jump on into some fun stuff!

  • The first product I have been loving is the Origins GinZing refreshing scrub cleanser. I use this product when I feel like my skin needs a really good cleanse and exfoliating. I purchased this at Sephora and it was $19.50. I will leave the link Here, if you would like to go check it out.
  • My next Origins product is the Orgins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal mask. I purchased this a long time ago, when I first tried this mask, I hated it. It broke me out like crazy, but when I used it a few more times I realized that it really cleared up my face. It difs deep into your pores and brings out all of the nasty gunk that is beneath the surface. Once if bring out all of the nasty stuff, you really see an amazing difference. Again, I purchased this product at Sephora and it was $26.00 and you can find that Here.
  • A couple of months ago I won a free facial from MaryKay and ended up really loving the facial wash and moisturizer. It is from the time-wise collection, it says that it is a 3 in 1 cleanser. It removes my makeup, exfoliates and cleanses my face all at the same time.
  • Before I apply the moisturizer I make sure and use my Garnier Micellar water just to make sure all of the makeup is off of my skin and everything is refreshed!
  • Lastly I apply the moisturizer, the next day my skin feels and looks so amazing.

Ok now my my favorite part! The makeup, isn’t that why we are all here?

  • The first product I would like to talk about is EVERWHERE right now. The Kylie Lip Kit! I was finally able to get my hands on Kourt K. Beautiful color, great application and smells amazing. If you would like me to go in depth and create a look using this product, just comment down below. I would be more than happy to do that for you. Hopefully next I can get my hands on Posie K! If any of you have that one let me know what you think.
  • A lot of lippies this month, next on my list is Mac’s Please Me. This is a gorgeous matte everyday pink color.
  • My favorite gloss of the month is Dolly by Buxum! I got a mini one in a pallet for Christmas a couple years ago and fell in love. I finally ran out of it and purchased a full size. I have been using the gloss non stop. I put it on top of most of my lip colors. I even love the color on its own.
  • For brows I have constantly been using the Ardell brow pomade with the Anastasia number 7 brow brush. These two together are the best couple in the universe! They go together like Danny and Sandy from Grease!
  • Next I am sure that you have seen this being raved about often as well. This is the Laura Mercier translucent  powder. One word. Amazing.
  • Last but not least I purchased Sephoras Color Switch! This is just a sponge like product, it allows you to use the same face or eyeshadow brush without deep cleaning the brush in between. All you do is brush it inside the pan and it takes out all of the extra powder and color on your brush!

My last couple of favorites for April are these two right here! The Morphe 350 and the Anastasia Glow Kit in the colors That Glow!

These two are absolutly incredible. The Morphe 350 is a great everyday eyeshadow pallet, great mixture of shimmer and matte colors. Very inexpensive if you can get your hands on it.

Anaistasia Glow Kit has been the highlight of the month, get it! I crack myself up. I have another post just on this product, if you would like to see swatches, feel free to check that post out.

I have a could of music favorites for you all, if you like a variety of music, you are going to love these songs!

  1. 7 years- Lucas Graham
  2. Shut up and fish- Maddie &Tae
  3. Love yourself- Justin Bieber
  4. Peter Pan- Kelsea Ballerini
  5. I took a pill in Ibiza- Mike Posner
  6. Hollow- Tori Kelly
  7. Jumpman- Drake
  8. No- Meghan Trainor
  9. The Power of Love – Celine Dion
  10. Yea Boy- Kelsea Ballerini

And this completes my April Favorites! I hope that you all enjoyed this post, please let me know what you think! If you have any thoughts or share any of these favorites, I would love to hear about them. Thank you all for reading!

    Wedding Wednesday!

Hello everyone! I have just a few updates on the wedding. Nothing too crazy, but just enough to share. Before I get into all of that I want to stop and take a minute to say welcome to all of you who are just not stumbling on to my blog. I hope that you enjoy this post and follow me! I follow back. I also follow on all of my other social media! Twitter is the best way to get a hold of me. For any collaborations, I will link my email down below. Let’s get on with the updates.

First I want to share that 5 out of 7 girls have bought their dress and shoes! I am going to have to say, that is a pretty good number and they bought them all the same day. It was so easy and I have to thank David’s Bridal for making it all happen! I went with two different dresses; one for my maid of honor and the other for my bridesmaids. The color of the MOH is petal and the other girls dresses are going to be like a dark grey. Here are the styles. Modeling for us today is my baby sister, I love her!  The dress on the right is the style that my MOH will be wearing and the other style is for my BM. Let me know what you all think? I fell in love with these dresses as soon as I laid my eyes on them and they looked so good with the shoes I picked out. The ladies that worked there were so helpful and the manager was amazing. I am really glad that I chose David’s.

Next up I have the shoes, absolutely gorgeous. At first I had my mind set on converse, but the moment I seen these, everything changed. I want my girls to feel comfortable and not cause a domino effect as we all walk down the isle. Since I am not wearing heels, why make my girls wear them?  Here they are, the lace is going to go so well with the lace on the dress. Hopefully I can find some lace converse to go with my dress! If you haven’t seen my dress I will link the blog Here.

I am still in search for a veil, headpiece and a hair style for myself. I did find the hairstyle that I want my girls to rock!  I think an up do like this one is going to be amazing! I just love how they look so elegant. Please feel free to let me know what you think! Any suggestions and tips I am willing to listen! I am constantly on Pinterest doing research, so if you would like to see what I pin, follow me. I will have all of my social media listed below. I hope all of you have an amazing day!

That is going to be all for my updates, like I said beforenot a lot, but just enough! Please like comment and follow! I follow back and keep in touch. I love making new friends.
