HOW TO SET GOALS

You have goals in life…. You may not know that you have goals, but you do. If you have told yourself that you’re going to get your husband to notice your new hair, that’s your goal. If you are trying to get all of the laundry done before your mom gets home, that’s your goal. If you are someone like me, then you have so many goals, it is hard to keep track of them all. If that’s the case, then I am here to help. I have created two kick ass lists to help you get your shit together and set goals like a #bossbabe.

Before you even begin to think about what you want, you need to be thankful for what you have. Praise the hard working husband that works 12 hours a day to support the family. Be thankful for the car that you drive around. Be thankful for the house that you live in. Take a second to think back to the days when you were living in a shelter home, and be thankful that you aren’t there anymore. Knowing that your bills are going to be paid on time and your kids are going to be fed is something to be thankful for. Giving thanks is so important, because if you are not thankful for what you have, then why are you working so hard for something that is unappreciated?

Now that you have given thanks to your mom for being the best mother that she can be, it’s time to move on to the fun stuff! When setting goals, you need to keep a few things in mind. This is going to be very important when writing your goals out.

  1. Your goals need to be specific. If you are unsure of what you want, how are you suppose to achieve the goal?
  2. Make sure that your goals are realistic. I am not saying not to shoot for the stars, but they also have to be attainable. If not, you can will discouraged and give up. We both know that you don’t want that, now do you?
  3. Set a time frame for each goal. Knowing that you have a time period will keep you on your toes. It will also get you to achieve your goals before your time is up. You will accept your own challenge!
  4. Take action! List the steps that you need to take in order to achieve each goal.

Take as much time as needed and write down your goals that need to be accomplished. It can be anything; to loose 30 pounds, get the house organized, reach 10,000 blog and Instagram followers. Big or small, write them all down. At this point it doesn’t really matter where they are written, we just need to make sure that we know where the list is in a little bit. You know what, I lied, it does matter where you write down these goals. How about printing out the goals list that I have created for you! Setting goals is fun, isn’t it?

Now that you have created your goals list, it is important to write down the steps that you are going to take to achieve those goals. No matter what the goal is, you need a plan of action! As promised, I have a third and final list for you! This will help you understand what it takes to get those goals accomplished. Print one of these for ever goal that you have.

It’s very important to keep these lists somewhere that you are going to see them every day. Put them in that important binder that you have. Tape them to the inside of your planner. Frame them or even put them on your refrigerator. Wherever you think will work the best, let them shine!

Now all that is left is to have a positive mind set and start crossing those bad boys off of your list! Before you know it, all of your goals will be achieved, and it will be time to make new ones. Have fun!

Being a Boss Babe

BOSS BABE, READING THOSE WORDS IN YOUR HEAD, WHAT DO YOU PICTURE? IS IT A WOMAN THAT WORKS HARD FOR WHAT SHE WANTS? A GIRL WITH A DREAM BIGGER THAN HER HAIR AND A PLAN TO MAKE IT HAPPEN? WHAT ABOUT A SINGLE MOTHER OF FOUR, WORKING TWO JOBS, JUST SO THAT SHE CAN FEED HER BABIES AND STILL HAVE ENOUGH TO PAY THE RENT?

What if I told you that you that all of those are correct. You don’t have to be the CEO of a huge company in order to be a boss babe. You don’t even have to have a job at all! If you have a passion for something and the drive for that passion, you are a boss babe. So for all of you boss babes out there, this is a post just for you! I am going to be sharing some tips with you to help you manage your time as a boss babe.

#BOSSBABETIPS

The very first tip that I have for you is to……wait for it…….GET UP EARLY. If you are a night owl like me, this tip is going to be very difficult to get used to. Let’s be honest for a second, the earlier that you get up, the more time that you have during the day to get your shit done! So before you go to bed try setting more than one alarm, and place your phone across the room you. This will make sure that you have to actually get up, and by the time that you turn it off, you won’t want to climb back into bed.

On to the second tip! After you get your ass up and your coffee is made, find somewhere that you can sit to gather your thoughts. Go sit out on the patio, head to the cozy chair by the fireplace, wherever you feel that you can relax the most. You can call it meditation or whatever you like best. Just set aside 10 minutes each day to think about whatever you want. This could be the time to; come up with blog post ideas, business proposals, school, maybe a stretch, anything that makes you happy. Try not to worry, there will be plenty of time for that after your work is done.

Something else that is helpful would be to make your bed (if you don’t already do that). When you make your bed, you won’t want to climb back into it. Why mess up the 36 pillows that you just arranged for only you to see.

When getting ready for the day, try to avoid all social media. Facebook can be an easy waste of 15 minutes believe it or not. We are all guilty of falling down that rabbit hole that we like to call Pinterest. “I just need to look at something real quick.” That is one of the biggest lies that anyone has ever told. That 15 minutes could go toward trying something different with your hair or adding on some false lashes that you don’t ever really have time to apply.

Once your makeup and hair is all done up, you want to make sure that you dress the boss babe part. Just remember to dress for the job that you want, not the one that you have! If your dream job is to be the face of Torrid 2018; put on those super cute capri pants, that bright coral top, the cutest heels that you own, and strut down that hallway like you own it! Oh wait..that’s my dream. Well, I guess that I can share it with you.

This next tip is by far my favorite and that is to set goals for yourself! In order to be a boss babe, you have to have at least something that you are working towards. It doesn’t have to be big, it can be as simple as drinking more water. Find something that you want to accomplish and put it somewhere that you can see all of the time. Try writing down some of your goals, take a picture of them, and set that photo as your wallpaper! That way you can always see them, and remind yourself that those goals need to be accomplished.

No matter what is happening throughout the day, you have to keep a positive mind. Moods can change very easily, but if you feel that bad mood coming through, try and shift your mind. This is easier said than done, but all it takes is practice. When you have a positive mind, you can get so much more done during your day. Especially when you aren’t still pissed off at the driver that cut you off on the freeway.

Another tip that can save you so much time as a boss babe is to keep your work space organized. No matter what you are doing, make sure that you can find what you need. If you are a makeup artist, make sure that your kit is packed and your brushes are cleaned. If you are a stay at home mom, make sure that you know exactly where the pacifier and blanket is. If you are a fashion blogger, make sure that you have that shoot outfit ready to be put on! Make it easy for yourself! Did I mention that this will save you so much time? I sure did!

My final tip for you is to read something inspirational! I know that this is the most obvious tip, but for some reason reading something that is inspiring makes me want to get up and work! I want to take on the world because a book told me that I could! Silly right? Well, whatever works! I am not really sure if this tip can save you anytime, but it sure can make your heart smile. Besides, inspiration is one of the many meaning of being a boss babe.
