Stop Apologizing: Love Yourself

“Oh, I’m sorry.”

Wait……. Why am I sorry? That person bumped into me.

“I’m sorry.”

Why did I just apologize for laughing? That person is laughing too.

I do this all of the time and if you don’t know what I am talking about, I am talking about the fact that I apologize for being me. I can’t help myself and it’s a very bad habit. I can’t be the only person that does this. I recently made a promise to myself that I am no longer going to apologize for being me. I’m going to start living my best life and stop second guessing myself. I’m going to laugh however I want, I’m going to walk freely, I’m going to smile if I want to. I have a right to be on this earth, just as much as anyone else. Apologizing for everything that I do is something that I do as an insecurity. If I apologize, that means that I am lesser than the person that I am apologizing to. I know that I am not any less than that person. I am a human being that has emotions, I am a human being that walks down a street, and I am a human being that compliments something that I like. If you are like me and apologize for something that you didn’t need to apologize for, I want you to stand with me and stop apologizing. Tell yourself that you’re allowed to laugh, you’re allowed to breathe, and you’re allowed to be yourself. Promise yourself that you are going to stop saying sorry for no reason.

I would like a friend of mine for inspiring this blog post (you know who you are).

Motivational Monday: Don’t Quit Your Daydream!

I cannot tell you how long that I have been dreaming about the day that I would quit my full-time job, just to focus on my passion! For the longest time, I didn’t even know that I had a passion. It took a ton of dumb Facebook career quizzes and countless talks with my family members, to finally realize that I was not destined to have a typical career. I was born to be a hustler, others would call it an entrepreneur.

Back in 2012, I decided to take my last Facebook career quiz. The result led me to where I am today and where I am going to be in the future. In 2016 I signed up for an event and wedding planning course and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I studied hard and in just six short months, I received my event and wedding planning certificate.

During that time I also discovered another love of mine, blogging. I bought a ring light, a few backdrops, and put in work! I created makeup looks, talked about my beauty favorites, and wrote “What’s in my bag” posts. Since then I have transformed into more fashion, lifestyle, and wedding posts. Hens, certified wedding planner. Eventually blogging led me to Instagram, and who knows where I am headed next.

What I am trying to get at here is that not everyone was born to do the same job. If everyone became a teacher, there would be no doctors. If everyone went for the same career path, life would be boring as hell. It’s okay to step out of the box. I understand that not everyone is going to agree with what I do and I am perfectly okay with that. As long I believe in myself, that is all that I need, (aside from my husband’s support).

As of April 13, 2018, I am no longer working at my Monday through Friday job. I am now a full-time entrepreneur.  That means that I am my own boss, working hard, and proving to myself that I was born to do this. If you ask anyone that knows me, they will tell you that I am not your average 25-year old. I am creative, crafty, and love doing something different every day.

This is just my friendly reminder to live for yourself. Life is too short to live your life wondering “what if?”. Do something that you love and don’t worry about what others are going to say or think. You might just surprise yourself. Hold on to that daydream until you get there, I know that I did.

Soon enough, you are going to see me on the Today Show, telling the world about this exact moment. The moment that I decided to quit my day job to chase my dream job.

Today’s Work it Wednesday is all about self-love. I know that having self-confidence can be a struggle, trust me, been there and don’t want to go back. So here are 15 affirmations that you can read to yourself as often as you would like, just to give your confidence a little boost and feel better about yourself. You don’t need to depend on someone else to tell you how amazing you are. What better person to tell you then well, you?

  1. I believe in me: At the end of the day, you need to be the one to believe in yourself. If you don’t believe that you can accomplish anything, why should anyone else?
  2. I am fearless: To get what you want in life, you need to have no fear and just jump!
  3. I am not my mistakes: Everyone has a past, don’t let yours define you.
  4. Positivity is a choice; I choose to be positive: This affirmation says it all.
  5. I am a beautiful person: it’s true, you are.
  6. Life is beautiful: Enjoy it.
  7. What I give is what I receive: Law of attraction, baby!
  8. I matter. I am allowed to say no: This one can be a struggle, but if you need help, call me. If I got passed it, so can you.
  9. I am successful: No matter what you choose to do, rock it!
  10. Every idea is a good idea: Express yourself and create your future.
  11. I deserve love, compassion, and empathy: Yes you do.
  12. I am my best source of motivation: Get your ass up and take on the world!
  13. I am talented and intelligent: You are the smartest person that I know.
  14. EVERYTHING is possible: you can make anything happen.
