Skin Care Product Review

Ahhhh!! Back with another product review post! I love these types of posts, I get to try out new products and fall in love! Today’s feature is from a brand that I have reviewed in the past. Tara Lee Natural Beauty, is an amazing all natural, skin care line. All of her products are sold on Etsy. I reviewed her Charcole Clay Mask. AMAZING. If you would like to read that, I will leave that right here for your enjoyment!

I love makeup, but skin care is just as important! Taking care of your skin, helps keep the canvas that we paint; nice, clean and smooth! I have tried out just a few of the many products that are available in Tara Lee’s shop. I will have all of these products linked, so that you can try them out yourself!

Packaging:

I would love to start this review by saying, the products come very well packaged! They are in plastic tubs, twist off lid, and are extra sealed with tape for the traveling. That way, when you receive your products, you don’t have to worry about any of it being spilled out.

French Green Clay Mask:

This mask comes in a poweder form, you mix with a little water, and then apply to the face. I love the fact that it come as a powder. I feel like the product won’t be wasted that way. Sometimes when the clay masks are already mixed, they can dry out fast. If you don’t properly close the lid, or of you leave the lid off for a long time, it tends to harden faster. The scent of this product isn’t too overpowering, which I love, that way you aren’t too scared to wear it because of the smell.

I like to apply this mask when I am cleaning my house, I call it multi-tasking!

Whipped Scub:

I have the Herbal Whipped Salt Scrub and the Whipped Sugar Scrub. I love scrubs in general, but the Whipped Sugar Scrub is my FAVORITE! It smells like lemon cake batter, I love lemon cake. It contains coconut oil, so it doesn’t dry out your skin. It’s a scrub, so that means that it exfoliates. It is just an all around great product!

The Herbal Scrub is just as good, the only difference is that it contains herbs. When you first open the product, you will find the herbal smell, and a small amount of the herbs right on top!

The cool thing about these scrubs, you can choose the color that you want and the ounces!

Sea Kelp Mask:

This is an Organic Sea Kelp Mask, or a seaweed mask, and it helps to purify the skin. This mask has the same concept of the others, you mix it with water and then apply to the face. You can also customize the masks to your liking. There are some extra add ons and different ingredients that are available. I leave the mask on until it is completely dry and then wash it away with warm water. No redness, just a clean smiling face! Again, what I love about her products, is that the scents are not too over powering.

There are 31 different items to choose from in her shop. Next I want to try out her Strawberry Sugar Scrub and the Eye Brightening Makeup Remover!

Tara has been so kind and has give me a discount code to share with you! If you use “TARALEEBEAUTY” at checkout, you don’t have to pay for shipping! I know that you are just dying to try these products out! I hope that you enjoyed this product review and if there are any more products that you would like for me to test for you, just let me know!

Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

My first attempt at a step by step eye shadow tutorial.. not bad right? Hello everyone! I promised more makeup posts, so here you go!

This look is perfect for a party, special event, or just because! I hope that you enjoy!

The first thing that I do before any eyeshadow look, is prime my eyelids. This helps the eyeshadow stay longer and creates a nice clean base to start with.

Transition shades are always a good step. Light browns or skin tone eyeshadow are good transition colors. This step makes it easier to transition from a lighter shade of eyeshadow, into a darker shade. I make sure and blend the light brown like it’s no ones business.

Once that light brown is all blended, I went in with a deep cranberry color to blend right in with that first shade. I cannot tell you how important it is to blend. Keep on blending!

The step that helps create this smokey eye, is the dark outer corner. On a very small blending brush, I picked up some black eyeshadow and slowly started blending that into the outer V of the eye. I am making sure to take my time on this part, black eyeshadow can be very tricky to work with.

Once that black is all blended to my liking,  I went in with a light, shimmer berry color and packed that onto the lid.

To brighten up this look a little, I went in with a highlight shade and placed that right under my brow bone. This just gives the smokey eye a little bit of something extra. Another trick to opening up the eyes a little, is to add the highlight shade to the inner corners of the eyes.

To balance out my eyes, on a blending brush, I used that same cranberry shade that I used in my crease,  and ran it under my lash line. I also added some black eyeliner in my waterline.

After that was all completed, I threw on some mascara and a little highlight on my cheeks.  This is my finished look! I hope that you enjoyed it! Smokey eyes are my favorite looks to create.
The pallet that I used for this tutorial is the Morphe X Kathleen Lights Pallet.

Did you know that I have an online boutique ?? You can visit the website here! Plus size clothes and more!

Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello! How was everyone’s holiday weekend? I hope that it was amazing! Mine was filled with smiles, family and food. Today I am bringing to you my everyday makeup routine! I know that some of you miss my makeup posts (Aunt Cindy and Maddison). This one is for you!

I would first like to say, excuse my crusty ass nose and my lazy eye. I was really sick for like a week and my nose was raw. My lazy eye is just there for everyone to enjoy. Now, on to the good stuff.

First things first, I always wash my hands and then sanitize them. I try to keep my breakout to a minimum. Dirty hands touching the face is a big cause of breakouts.

Moisturize

To moisturize my face I use coconut oil. I use coconut oil for absolutely everything. I love it. This is also the time that I like to apply chapstick. It preps my lips and gets them ready for lipstick.

Primer

I know that this sounds weird, but to prime my face I use Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm. It contains glycerin, and glycerin helps makeup stay on your face.

Face

For foundation I like to use Loriel True Match. This is one of the best foundations that I have ever tried. The color selection is ridiculous! Once that is applied, I go in with concealer. When I apply concealer, I apply it in an upside down triangle under my eyes. This covers more areas on the face and also highlights.

To set the under eye area, I use the Laura Mercier translucent powder. To set the rest of my face I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

Once all of that is done, I apply my blush, the one that I have been using is Milani baked blush in 02 Rose D’Oro. To highlight I have been using Mac’s beaming blush.

Brows

Brows have been the same for a while now. I am using Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in Dark Brown. To set them I apply Brow This Way by Rimmel.

Eyes

I love me some winged liner. This is a gel liner from Elf that I purchased a long time ago. I use this bad boy everyday. Mascara is Maybelline Lash Essentials Mascara. By far the best mascara I have ever used. To spice up my look a little, I apply a highlighted eyeshadow in the inner corners of my eyes. This adds a little extra something and makes it look like you spent a lot of time on your eyes.

Lips

Usually for lips I use something simple, like a nude lipstick or a gloss, but today I am wearing Spice by Kylie Cosmetics. I took Blog pictures and you will see them very soon!

To make sure that my makeup stays in place all day, I like to spray my face with some setting spray, this one is from Urban Decay.

My makeup usually takes my about 15 minutes to accomplish. I hope that you all enejoyed this post! Remember to stay awesome and I will talk to you all in the next one!

I love you!

Christmas Gifts: DIY Version

Yay! I love the holidays! Time for family, baking and gift giving. Obviously that isn’t the meaning of Christmas, but those take up a big part of the season. Today I am sharing two DIYs for the holidays! One is a cute and very inexpensive gift, and the other is a simple festive treat!

DIY Coffee Mug

We are going to need:

  1. Coffee Mugs
  2. Sharpies

This is seriously the easiest gift ever! I picked these up at the dollar store, but if there is some laying around the house, those will also work. I love the gold rings around the rim, I felt like it gave the gift a little extra something.

Next, just create any design on them. Then we are done! Told you, easy and cute. Great idea for any occasion.

If we want to take it up a notch, we can throw in a packet of hot chocolate and add a cute bow!

Cookie Pops

This DIY isn’t as easy as the first one, but it’s a no brainer.

We are going to need:

  1. Cookie Dough; this one was 3$ at WalMart
  2. A baking pan
  3. Parchment paper
  4. Popcycle sticks or cake pop sticks
  5. Sprinkles

Before we do anything, we have to make sure that our hands are washed. Seems obvious, but there are some people out there that don’t. Once our hands are all nice and clean, it is time to preheat the oven. Read the cookie dough package, mine says 350 degrees F. Next, I covered my baking pan with parchment paper.

While we are waiting on the oven, this is our time to get the cookie pops ready!

Step One: Roll cookie dough into small balls. Making sure that we have a small amount of dough, other wise the cookies are going to be too big. The purpose is for them to be pops, not crumbles and a stick.

Step Two: Roll the cookie dough in the sprinkles. Mix it up! Use different colored sprinkles!

Step Three: Stab cookie dough balls with the sticks!

Step Four: Place cookies in the oven when ready.

Make sure and set the timer! 11 minutes seems about right.

Once the timer goes off, let the cookies cool in the pan for about five minutes and then they are ready to eat!

Enjoy!

Simple and perfect! Happy Holidays everyone!

Remember to check out my Online boutique! There are some great things for winter and holiday parties.

Sister love and fashion.

December is here, can you believe it?? This month is the perfect time to spend time with family. I love quality time, with work and life getting into the way, quality time doesn’t happen as often as it should. Hello everyone! Today my sister, my husband and I have teamed up to bring you this fun little shoot. A little fall fashion inspiration for you. Even though it is December, it’s still toasty in California. We got all dolled up and went out and just went with it. We had so much fun taking these pictures! We hope that you enjoy them.

I would like to point out the fact that my husband took these photos. If you want to ask someone to take your photos for you, but not sure what they will say, just ask. They may surprise you, I never thought that he would even consider it. Not only did he take my pictures, but he slayyyedddd these photos. DONE!

Our hats are from Charlotte Russe. I love this photo, Sierra is so silly. Enjoy your sister if you have one. They may annoy the hell out of you, but they are your backbone. She makes me laugh and can make me cry at the same time. I can honestly say that she is my best friend. I couldn’t imagine a life without her.

It wouldn’t be a photoshoot, if Brian’s Mustang wasn’t in it. If you have a man in your life that is obsessed with cars, then you will understand. #5.0

My top is from Torrid, this is seriously one of my favorite shirts. It’s so comfortable and easy to move in. I love my light washed denim shirt!Sierra’s top is a cute flow blouse from Forever 21. If you have ever shopped at Forever 21, then you know that it is very affordable. If you haven’t made your way there yet, then you should. There is a wide selection of styles and price ranges. I couldn’t find the shirt on the site, but you should still go take a look!

Remember to enjoy life, smile and relax. Don’t stress over something that isn’t worth it. I learned that the hard way. Besides, it’s way more fun to be worry free.

I would like to thank my baby sister for being featured in my post, and my husband for taking my photos. I love you both from the bottom of my heart.

My Favorites for November.

Where in the world did November go?? Seriously, I feel like we were just celebrating the beginning of 2016!

This month has brought a lot of things to my attention and a lot of beauty products into my life. I have discovered some great things about myself and will be forever thankful for this month. I would like to take a second, to thank you for supporting me throughout my blogging journey. I have found something that I love and you are helping me keep this passion alive. By reading, liking, commenting, and sharing my posts, you are supporting me in more ways than you will ever know. Now…. let’s stop with all of that mushy mushy and get on to the good stuff!img_9025Aside from you being my number one favorite, this setting spray has changed my life! I like to spritz some of this on before AND after I apply my makeup. Guess what…my makeup stays in place all day.

I have always loved this foundation, I just forget to mention it in my favorites. I have been using this non-stop. I not only love the way that this sits on my skin, but I love the color range! Some brands have limited options when it comes to foundation, but not Loreal!

I discovered this concealer a while back, but I recently fell in love with it all over again. It gives major coverage under the eyes. This concealer is on the thicker side, so if you don’t like that, stay far away. Brows cannot be on fleek, if I am not rocking the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade. Ok, this is a game changer when it comes to highlight. It looks pink in the packaging, but when applied to the skin, it turns gold…..I know, badass right?!

Popping a little phloof onto the inner corners of my eyes, has been a must! Adding a little something extra for the month of November. img_9068All of the Kylie Lip Kits that I own, have been on constant rotation. I love these liquid lipsticks like no other! I own quite a few, but not nearly enough. (My husband would disagree). I have especially been loving Mary Jo K and Leo. I am not entirely sure why I didn’t discover Charlotte Russe boots sooner. I love the way they fit me, they are so comfortable to walk in, and they are super adorable! With these cold November days, I have been drinking more and more hot drinks. We just recently purchased a Keurig, I don’t know why we didn’t purchase it sooner. I love the damn thing!! I have been alternating between, Swiss Miss Hot Coco and Dunkin Donuts Original Blend. AMAZZIINNGGG.

With that being said, my Keurig made it in my favorites! Along with my Gold Canyon candle in Sugar Cookie. Isn’t it so beautiful?

Favorite movies of the month are:

  • SPY
  • ALADDIN
  • PITCH PERFECT 2
  • KIKI’S DELIVERY SERVICE
  • BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

RANDOM FAVORITES:

  1. I have been loving my day planner! Something about writing down my goals and planning out my day, just puts me in a better mood and helps me stay organized. I really want an Erin Condren Life Planner for Christmas. Hopefully Brian reads this.
  2. My hair straightener. I recently had bangs cut and have been straightening them everyday.

How to Start a Blog

Hello you creative little blogger! If you have stumbled upon this post, it is probably because you are new to blogging and need some tips, or you haven’t started your blog yet but you want to. Before we get started, I would just like to say, that in no way am I saying that I am a professional blogger; I have only been blogging for a little over a year. These are just some of the tips which have helped me along the way. I have written down the things I wish I had known when I first started blogging. Alright, now that we have got that out of the way, let’s jump into the fun stuff!

• The first thing that you need to do in order to start a blog, is to get inspired. Think of the reason that made you want to start blogging in the first place. Hold on to that. Whatever the reason may be, choose a topic that you love. I love beauty, fashion, and life-hacks, so guess what I write about?!

• The next step is to choose a website that you want to run your blog through. There are a lot of sites out there; WordPress, BlogLovin, and Godaddy are just a few. Do your research and choose one that works best for you. I chose WordPress because it is free and you have quite a bit of control over your blog. I would not recommend purchasing the site, unless you know that you are going to be blogging for a while. Purchasing is a big commitment.

• This next step may take some time, or it may not. Finding that perfect domain name took me two tries….. TWO! Don’t be like me, take your time and think of the long run. This is the name that people are going to see the most.

• After you have it set up, it is time to add some personality to your blog. Some of the things that you can add to spice up your blog include: an amazing About Me page, a theme that fits you and your fantastic personality, and don’t forget to upload a profile picture!

• Once you have added all of the glitz and glam, now it is time to write your first post! Find topic that you love, don’t waste your time writing about something you are not passionate about. People can sense when you don’t care as much plus it totally takes the fun out of blogging!! If you like food and creating recipes, blog about food and creating recipes. If you like cars and motorcycles, blog about cars and motorcycles. You are not going to be the only one who cares about the topics that you love, I promise. Make your blog stand out!

• When you create your post, make sure to tag keywords and categorize about the topic.

Example: If I am writing about my current makeup routine, I would use the Category-Makeup, and use tags like; beauty, lipsticks, foundation, mascara. When you use these tags, they help get your post out there and let other people with the same interest, see your post. That way you are not the only one reading it.

•Share your post. This may be a big step for some people, I know that it is hard putting yourself out there, but this boosts your views and will most likely boost your followers.

• Adding pictures to your blog post is important, especially if your blog post is going to be really wordy, people need to have something to look at.

• If you take anything away from this post, I would like you to remember not to get discouraged. 40,000 followers do not grow overnight. Good things take time.

• My last and quite possibly most important tip, is to remember to have fun.

These are just a couple of the many things that come along with blogging. I hope that this post helps you in some way. Post great content and enjoy yourself. Don’t forget to let your personality shine through!

P.S. You are beautiful!

DIY Birthday Gift!

Hello you craft little fella! Today’s post is going to be short and sweet! I have made. birthday, candy wreath. This type of project is perfect for those people, that you just don’t know what to get them. This can be for any holiday, I just happened to make it for my cousins birthday. If you recreate this, I would love to see your picture! You can tweet me or tag me in Instagram. I hope that you enjoy!

Here is what you are going to need:

  • A styrofoam wreath, any size
  • Burlap to cove the wreath (optional)
  • A hot glue gun and some glue sticks
  • Candy of your choice
  • Bow

The first thing that you want to do is plug in your hot glue gun. When your glue is ready, you can begin!

This is one of the easiest projects I have ever made! All you do is wrap the burlap around the wreath, making sure that you hot glue the burlap down sporadically.

This is an idea of what it should look like.

Once you have completely covered your wreath in the burlap, that is when you just glue the candy to the wreath. Glue as much or as little candy as you want. Keep going until you like it.

Once that is complete, all you do is glue on the bow and you’re done! Seriously, it’s that easy! Now, not only do you have a gift for someone, you have given them a snack for later! Cute, right?

I hoped that you liked this post, if you want to see more DIY projects, let me know! It was fun making it and I love to be crafty. Make sure to follow me on my social media, so that we can stay connected! I love you!
