#BloggerBabe Series: Meet the Blogger

As a blogger, I am always curious to know what motivates other bloggers to get their work done. What their thought process is when it comes to blogging. Today I got to do just that, I got to interview a beautiful blogger friend of mine. Not only is Paige a very talented blogger, but she also has an amazing Instagram feed, along with a YouTube channel that has over 700 subscribers. Read along as I asked her all of the questions that I have been dying to know!

What/ who inspired you to start your channel/blog/Instagram?

I have always (since I was younger) followed lots of different beauty/fashion accounts, it’s been something I have always had a passion for. After seeing girls around my age build up the confidence to start a youtube channel or blog, I thought, maybe I could do this too? I have always had a lot to say, ask my parents and they would tell you I never shut up, I could speak for England!! I have so much to voice my opinion on, not just on beauty and fashion but on more personal things, if my social profiles can help/influence someone else, then my job is done. I would mainly say a lot of people around me inspired me, there’s nothing you can’t do as long as you put your mind to it.

How long have you been building your brand?

If I’m honest, I didn’t know ‘building a brand’ was a thing until around 6 months ago when I really started getting serious on my Instagram/Blog photography. I would say that I have been taking ‘building’ my social profile seriously for around a good 6 months when really nice deals started coming through from brands, that is when I started treating my social media more as a part time job rather than just a hobby, don’t get me wrong it is great to have fun on your profiles because there is no wrong way to do it, but I like to try and keep mine very professional and targeted to my audience.

What is the next step for you?

This is such a hard question, because with social media E V E R Y T H I N G is unpredictable, but I suppose if I had a choice it would be to grow my channels a lot more and maybe look at it becoming a full-time thing, blogging/social media is a passion of mine and I love creating content people want to see, it makes me feel so happy!!

Do you have a routine when it comes to uploading content?

I wouldn’t say I have a set routine, I mean most of my weekends when I’m not working are spent in London taking pictures for my Instagram/blog or filming videos for my channel but I wouldn’t go all the way to say I have a set routine, I do what I can and try not to stress if I don’t get everything done, as this is my hobby I don’t want to stress and suck the fun out of something I really enjoy.

Would you say that blogging and YouTube has changed your confidence?

One million percent, YES!! I had little to no confidence before I started my social media channels, I was very bullied at school mainly for the way I looked and that is something that has always stayed with me, but growing my channels and seeing so many people enjoy my content has built my confidence so much. I am now not afraid to stand in the middle of London looking sassy AF taking pictures because I am doing it for me, yes people may stand and stare but you aren’t going to see them again so what’s the point in worrying about it?

Do you have a favorite topic that you love uploading? Fashion, beauty, or travel?

When I first started blogging, beauty was the main thing I really got into, mainly because I had watched thousands of makeup tutorials it was something I loved. However, recently the past year or so fashion has stepped up to be something I am mega interested in and this is something I now talk about on a daily basis. Travel is also something I am extremely passionate about, you can most likely see that from Instagram because I am always going places.

Where do you plan on traveling next?

I am actually in Paris in a couple of weeks, but after that 100%, either Italy or Iceland is on the cards!!

Who would you say is your biggest role model?

In my life, definitely my Nan, she sadly passed away last year but she was a massive influence on me, she was always so sassy and fashionable, no word of a lie she would have a matching handbag to every outfit she owned (a complete life goal of mine haha) but she was always so supportive of everything I do socially.

Who is your biggest supporter?

My boyfriend has got to my number 1 fan!! He is always so interested in what I’m up to and is always excited to see what I get up to next, and probably my best friend Amy as well, she is always the first to congratulate me on something I achieve which is always so lovely!!

What is your drink order? Coffee, tea, soda?

A good old cup of English tea!!

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color has always been a really light blue, but if I were answering this fashion wise, it would have to be black haha.

Who is your favorite YouTuber?

Favorite YouTuber would have to be InTheFrow, I look up to her like a big sister I think she is just brilliant and she works so hard on all of her social platforms.

Who is your favorite blogger?

Again, this would have to be InTheFrow or Lissy Roddy, they are both amazing and their fashion accounts are beautiful!!

How would you describe your fashion style?

I honestly don’t have one, I see something I like and I buy it haha. I can go from dressing up joggers to a full ball gown to smart trousers and a blazer to jeans and a cute crop top, anything I love.

A Celebration List

Work, work, clean house, some more work. Ugh does it ever end? How come I have been working for the last three days, and still feel like I haven't accomplished anything?? I have crossed some things off of my list, so why is there so much left? It's because I am looking at my list all wrong. You heard me, all wrong I tell you!

Every Monday morning I sit down with my coffee, listen to a podcast, and write a list of everything that I need to accomplish for the week. That's normal right? As the week goes by, I will cross off everything that I have done on that list. Well when I look at that list at the end of the week, I get so pissed off at myself when I look at everything that is still unaccomplished.

One morning while I was sipping my amazing coffee, I was listening to the Style Your Mind podcast, hosted by Cara Alwill Leyba. She explained that she writes a celebration list. At the end of every day or every week, she will write down everything that she had accomplished during that time. So instead of kicking herself, she celebrates herself for all of her hard work.

What a brilliant idea! I will make two separate lists, one for everything that needs to be done for the week, and another for all of my celebrations! If I keep throwing out negative thoughts out into the universe about my list, guess what the universe is going to hit me with?

So from now on, I will be writing a celebration list to go along with every to do list!

5 PODCASTS THAT WILL INSPIRE YOU

If you don’t know what a podcast is, or have never listened to one, then you have no idea what you are missing out on. A podcast is basically an audio blog with all sorts of different categories! There are podcasts from art to TV & film.

My favorite types of podcasts are the entrepreneurial motivational ones. I love to listen to them when I am cleaning my house when I am getting ready, and when I am driving. Those are the times that I am really focusing and paying attention. For the most part, I love listening to music, but there are times when I need a pick me up and need to listen to something different. These five podcasts are ones that I know that I can count on helping out in some type of way. If I am ever feeling uninspired, they will bring back that spark that was running just a little low.

So with out further ado, here are the podcasts that have been changing my perspective and my life

STYLE YOUR MIND PODCAST

Cara Alwill Leyva is a bestselling author, a life coach, and the host of Style Your Mind Podcast. She answers questions about being an entrepreneur and interviews some of the baddest bitches when it comes to business. She is all about women coming together and helping each other rise up. She gets behind the scenes of how the business became about and how it has risen.

BOSS UP! PODCAST

Lindsey Teague Moreno is a wine loving momtrepreneur that loves sharing tips on business while maintaining her family. Her podcasts are on the shorter side, so if you are someone that only has 10 minutes to get ready, then she is the perfect person to listen to.

THE INFLUENCER PODCAST

Julie Solomon hosts an innovative podcast that really walks you through; blogging, marketing, social media, growth, and influence. As she talks with other influencers, they help you understand what being an entrepreneur is really all about.

BEING BOSS PODCAST

Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon are all about being you 100% of the time and building an empire. Their podcasts are all about; mindset, habits, tactics, and lifestyle. If you are a creative entrepreneur, this podcast has your name written all over it.

DAIS

This last podcast is hosted by the amazing Rachel Hollis. She is the author of one of my all time favorite girl book series. On her podcasts, she interviews some amazing creators, such as Joy Cho and Mary Renner Beech. I love how she really connects with each person that she interviews and makes you want to keep listening.

There you have it, five inspiring girl boss podcasts. The next time that you are getting ready for the day, listen to one of these ladies. You will want to take on the world after one episode, I promise.

If you have a podcast of your own or just one that you love let me know, I will check them out! Who knows, I may be starting my own podcast soon.

HOW TO SET GOALS

You have goals in life…. You may not know that you have goals, but you do. If you have told yourself that you’re going to get your husband to notice your new hair, that’s your goal. If you are trying to get all of the laundry done before your mom gets home, that’s your goal. If you are someone like me, then you have so many goals, it is hard to keep track of them all. If that’s the case, then I am here to help. I have created two kick ass lists to help you get your shit together and set goals like a #bossbabe.

Before you even begin to think about what you want, you need to be thankful for what you have. Praise the hard working husband that works 12 hours a day to support the family. Be thankful for the car that you drive around. Be thankful for the house that you live in. Take a second to think back to the days when you were living in a shelter home, and be thankful that you aren’t there anymore. Knowing that your bills are going to be paid on time and your kids are going to be fed is something to be thankful for. Giving thanks is so important, because if you are not thankful for what you have, then why are you working so hard for something that is unappreciated?

Now that you have given thanks to your mom for being the best mother that she can be, it’s time to move on to the fun stuff! When setting goals, you need to keep a few things in mind. This is going to be very important when writing your goals out.

  1. Your goals need to be specific. If you are unsure of what you want, how are you suppose to achieve the goal?
  2. Make sure that your goals are realistic. I am not saying not to shoot for the stars, but they also have to be attainable. If not, you can will discouraged and give up. We both know that you don’t want that, now do you?
  3. Set a time frame for each goal. Knowing that you have a time period will keep you on your toes. It will also get you to achieve your goals before your time is up. You will accept your own challenge!
  4. Take action! List the steps that you need to take in order to achieve each goal.

Take as much time as needed and write down your goals that need to be accomplished. It can be anything; to loose 30 pounds, get the house organized, reach 10,000 blog and Instagram followers. Big or small, write them all down. At this point it doesn’t really matter where they are written, we just need to make sure that we know where the list is in a little bit. You know what, I lied, it does matter where you write down these goals. How about printing out the goals list that I have created for you! Setting goals is fun, isn’t it?

Here you go: Goals List.jpg

Now that you have created your goals list, it is important to write down the steps that you are going to take to achieve those goals. No matter what the goal is, you need a plan of action! As promised, I have a third and final list for you! This will help you understand what it takes to get those goals accomplished. Print one of these for ever goal that you have.

Goal steps.jpg

It’s very important to keep these lists somewhere that you are going to see them every day. Put them in that important binder that you have. Tape them to the inside of your planner. Frame them or even put them on your refrigerator. Wherever you think will work the best, let them shine!

Now all that is left is to have a positive mind set and start crossing those bad boys off of your list! Before you know it, all of your goals will be achieved, and it will be time to make new ones. Have fun!

I got an overwhelming amount of love on my last #bossbabe post, so I hope that you love this one just as much. If you would like to know what my goals are, let me know. I would be more than happy to write a separate post just for them! Be sure to tell me how the lists worked out for you!

I would like to dedicate this post to my beautiful Aunt Cindy. Thank you for being the inspiration behind this post, I love you so much!

Inspiration is everywhere, I came up with this blog post idea in the gardening aisle of a Big Lots.

Hair Care Products

I know that hair care is not talked about a lot on my blog, but that doesn’t mean that it is not important to me.

My hair goes through a lot. From the straightening and curling to the waving. My hair gets very dry, it needs a trim and a little drink sometimes. Trimming your hair every six weeks is probably the best thing for your hair. Unless of course you have very healthy hair and are just lucky like that. Unfortunately, that isn’t me and I need a trim. I like to go as often as I need it. I know that it’s time when my hair feels horrible at the ends and starts sticking together. After a nice trim, I like to go home and put a hot oil treatment on my hair. The best one that I have found is this Jamaican Mango & Lime Black Castor Oil with Coconut. I cannot tell you how incredible this product is! It smells amazing and can be used for so many different things! I put a generous amount into a microwavable bowl, heat it up for a minute, and then carefully apply it all over my hair. After it is all in and getting soaked up, I will leave it in for about an hour or two, and then wash it out.

IMG_9712

After that is all washed out, I will spray a generous amount of the HnP Placenta Super Strength Leave-In Instant Conditioning Treatment. Woah, that was a mouth full, but so worth it. It is for extremely damaged hair and helps with the tangles. As you can see in the picture below, I have gone through quite a bit of it. Once that is in and my hair is brushed out before I blow dry, I will go in with the Turn Up The Heat Protection Spray. I have been using this heat protectant for years and can’t say that I have found one to replace it. When using this, I have to make sure that I don’t go crazy with it. If I spray too much, it will make my hair greasy and weigh it down. Seriously, after my hair is dry, it’s like I have a brand new head of hair. Shiny, soft, smells, and feels amazing! IMG_9696

For styling my hair, these three babies are all that I need. If I am curling my hair and need that extra little volume, I will spray some of the Not Your Mother’s Double Take Dry Finish Texture Spray.  It just gives my hair that extra push that it needs.

Being that my hair is very dry, I don’t wash my hair every day. With that being said, I like to use one of two dry shampoos between washes. The first one is the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Dry Shampoo.  This stuff smells like I am at the beach, I have already gone through three bottles. I am obsessed, no joke. The other dry shampoo is the Mystic Divine Coconut Complex Texture Finishing Spray.  If you haven’t already caught on, coconut and coconut oil is very good for the hair! IMG_9681All of these products are very affordable and AMAZING. I can’t live without them and I recommend them to all of you! If you have damaged hair or just want that extra shine!
