2017 Fall Trends

Welcome to another Fashion Friday! Don’t you just love when I say the word Friday? Friday, Friday, Friday, Okay enough of that. On to the real reason that you are here. I have been noticing a lot of the fall trends that are going around and I am in love! I honestly don’t know which trend will be my favorite this season!

Fall Florals

I have been seeing fall florals everywhere that I go! Target, Forever 21, even the beauty gurus on YouTube are wearing this amazing trend! I love wearing florals during the spring, so this is going to be an easy one for me!

Cabbie Hats

I have loved cabbie hats even when they were not on trend! Instagram has been really making this trend blow up! They are super adorable and will look good on anyone!

Key Hole Lace Up Sweaters

I am sure that you have seen that the Key Hole tops were very trendy this summer, so it looks as if they are making an appearance this fall and winter!

Red

Red has always been a statement color, but it is especially popular this season! I can’t wait to rock those red fall lips! What about you??

Just curious, which fall trend do you think that you will be rocking this season? I think that I will be rocking all of them, personally. These are all such great trends and I am super excited about them!

Q&A: Bakersfield Beauty Blogger

Wednesday means that the week is almost over! A couple of days ago, I hopped onto Instagram and asked my audience if they would love to read a Q & A and most of them said yes! If you would like to be a part of those polls, make sure that you are following me on Instagram.

Now let’s jump in and get to know the girl in Bakersfield just a little bit more!

What primer do you use for a matte look?

I am in love with the Rimmel Stay Matte primer! It’s the best and super affordable.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because, I needed some sort of creative outlet that I could be myself and really express my passions.

What was your main inspiration?

My main inspiration was honestly YouTube beauty gurus. I loved watching all of the beauty videos and all of the beautiful women getting to be their selves. I wanted to start a channel of my own, just needed something less intimidating. Then I thought to myself, duh! A blog is less scary, but still gets my message out there!

What advice do you have for a beginner blogger?

My advice to you would be to find your own style and consistency is key. When you are blogging, blog for yourself, cause it won’t be fun if you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Another tip is to use your tags! If you are trying to gain followers, those are how people are really going to find you. I can keep going trust me!

What is your favorite vacation destination?

I love going to the beach! I could live there if it wasn’t so damn expensive!

What is your favorite TV show?

I am so in love with Once Upon a Time! Hook is gorgeous and I love all of the fairytales! I am also loving Riverdale and Fuller House for sure.

So many great questions! Thank you all who asked me and wanted to know a little more about me. If you would like a part two, go ahead and leave some questions in the comment section.

Starting an Event and Wedding Planning Business: Loving Plans

We are at the time of the year where love is in the air and weddings are everywhere!

If you don’t already know, your girl here has her own event and wedding planning business. That’s right, I know, cool huh? I knew that I wanted to become a party planner the day that I took one of those silly little career quizzes’s on Facebook. Turns out, it was right about me. Taking that silly little test was one of the best things that I could have ever done. I now own a small, local event and wedding planning business. Loving Plans is growing every single day.

Today’s blog post is going to be all about starting an event and wedding planning business. When I first started to look into starting Loving Plans, I had no idea where to start or what to do. I don’t want that to be you, I want you to go into this with at least some knowledge of what to expect. So, enough procrastinating, let’s get your business started!

First things first, before you start your business, make sure that event and wedding planning is something that you are passionate about. Yes, it is fun, but there is a lot behind the scenes that not a lot of people know quizzes. It’s not all glam and easy. There is a lot of sweat and hard work that goes into this business. Just something to keep in mind.

Now on to the good stuff!

When starting a party planning business, you have a couple of options. You can either take an online course to learn everything, or you can intern at local wedding planning businesses. Whatever floats your boat, I took an online course through U.S Career Institute. It was a go at your own pace course, it was an easy read, and the quizzes were perfect. If you can’t afford the course all at once, they do provide payment plans. Amazing, right? I love the choice that I made, I learned more than what an internship could teach me. If you don’t want to go this route, I would recommend interning at a local business.  This will not only give you the experience that you need, you will also be mentored by someone that has been through the ups and the downs. Both are great, no matter what you choose.

Picking out a business name

If you want to become a business owner, you have to pick out a name! When picking it out, you want to make sure that the name is not already taken anywhere, you don’t want to get in trouble for being a copycat. After you have picked out that perfect name, you want to make sure that you keep it. You need to file for a fictitious business name, the price will vary depending on your state. Here in California, it was $35 and I paid $20 to publish Loving Plans in a local newspaper.

Bank account

You will need a place to keep all your money that you earn from each job. The easiest way to go is to open a PayPal account. I love PayPal!

Build your vendor list

A vendor list is important to have when you are building your clientele. When suggesting vendors to your clients, you want to make sure that you and your vendors have a great chemistry. If you don’t really know a DJ that well, and you tell your client that they are the best in town when they are not, that is going to fall back on you with a bad review. And no one wants a bad review when they are just starting out their business. So hit those bridal shows or business mixers and build that list!

Marketing

Time to create your website, social media, and business cards. Your website is a place where people can view your work, check out your prices, and leave reviews. You can share all of that on your social media, and we all know that marketing is basically social media anyway. Leave a business card wherever you go! This would also be a great time to be at a local bridal show, rent a booth and get your name out there!

Make that money!

All that is left to do now is start making that money! Even if you have to work on tips alone just go gain some business, do it. It will be all worth it in the end, trust and believe.

I hope that this post was in any way helpful for you. Please feel free to share this on all of your social media and leave a comment! I will talk to you in the next blog post. Remember to stay confident.

4 Must Have Makeup Palettes

Happy Makeup Monday! I hope that your liner is winged to the gods and your lipstick is on point. Today I am sharing my four favorite makeup palettes that I can’t live without! They are perfect for fall and have a multi-purpose use!

  1. The Kay Von D Alchemist Highlight Pallet. This pallet is an intense highlighting one, but it is the perfect inner corner highlight for the eyes! It makes you look like your eyes are glowing.
  2. The Urban Decay Naked Heat Pallet. I’m sure that you have heard of this bad boy before, especially if you are a makeup lover like myself. This gorgeous pallet has all of the warm tone shadows that you will ever need for fall. It is seriously the best!
  3. The Morphe X Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Pallet. This little baby is a dream come true. It has a nice mix between cool and warm tone shadows. So many different looks can be created with this pallet.
  4. The Tartelette in the Bloom Pallet. This little guy is your perfect everyday eyeshadow pallet, but if you have dark hair like me, a couple of these shades can double as eyebrow powders. I love a twofer!

You can never have enough makeup palettes!

Let me know if you would like to read a part two! I would be happy to post it for another Makeup Monday!! Let me know if you have any of these and which ones are your favs!

What/who has inspired you to start your blog?

I followed a lot of bloggers on Instagram and just loved what they did and was super inspired. Also, a lot of my colleagues and friends were just non-stop asking me, when I would start blogging. So, one day I was trying to sell a skirt on Facebook and all those really mean people started to insult me – how I dare to wear this skirt, how fat I look and how a beautiful girl like me could just mess up her whole look with this skirt… That just ruined my whole day, I was so hurt and sad. But instead of just hide, I started to write about my experiences with Trolls I made my whole life. And this is when I started blogging.
All those haters and meanies inspired me to start blogging. I didn’t want them to hold me back, I’m f***ing beautiful and I’m f***ing sexy and I want to inspire all the other girls and boys, women and men that it doesn’t matter how they look and what other people say: Just be your beautiful SELF!

How long have you been building your brand?

I started blogging in August 2015 and I’m slowly, but constantly growing.

What is the next step for you?

The next step would be to grow and grow and grow and to keep having fun! It is still a hobby of mine, but maybe one day I can earn money with it.

Who is your biggest role model?

My Mama, always and forever. Strongest woman I know.

Do you have a routine when it comes to posting?

I do not have a routine. I post on Instagram and my blog whenever I want and feel like it. It still has to be fun and I do not want to fall into a routine yet.

Would you say that blogging has changed your confidence?

Most definitely yes. I feel so much more confident about me as a person and about my body.
This is an advice I would give anyone, who is struggling with their self Stand in front of a mirror and look at yourself, what do you like most about yourself? Do it daily and I bet you will find something new every time. Also, let someone take photos when you feel most confident about yourself, with beautiful makeup, hair and clothes, print them and hang them in your apartment. It works miracles!

Do you travel? If so, where are going next?
I would like to travel a lot more than I do now. I travel a lot for work but only in Germany, which is interesting but not my kind of travel I like. My next trip is hopefully around Christmas/New Years Eve. But I do not know where yet. And I would like to do a round trip by car through Scotland around Eastern.

Which topic is your favorite to blog about?

My favorite thing to blog about is everything that goes through my mind: I wrote some essays about body positivity and women’s rights. I learned most about myself and others when I wrote those texts.

What is your drink order from your favorite place?

I’m a Gin&Tonic girl through and through, so that will always be my go-to-drink. Preferable Bombay Saphire or Hendricks Gin with Fevertree Tonic Water and Cucumbers!

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color will always be red. Right now I totally go nuts for yellow.

Who is your biggest supporter?

My family is my biggest supporter in everything I do: Blogging, work, studying, going abroad…

Who is your favorite blogger?

My favorite bloggers are the power women from Blogger Bazaar (http://www.blogger-bazaar.com/) and the f***ing awesome Luciana from Luziehtan (http://luziehtan.de/de/)

How would you describe your style?

Bold and beautiful, individual, fun!

If you could collaborate with any brand in the entire brand in the world, who would it be?

Ouch, that is a hard question! I really, really like H&M, but so often they really suck when it comes to plus size! Same goes for ZARA. I think I would go with Zalando tough. It’s an online shop with lots of brands and I love them.

5 NEED TO KNOW TRAVEL HACKS

I want to eventually make memories all over the world. Especially in Georgia watching my little brother graduate from Army boot camp. By the time that you are reading this blog post, I am getting my shit together to get on a plane and fly out of state. If you have a trip coming up soon, this post is for you. As you can see from the title, I am sharing five need to know travel hacks to make your trip easier.

IMG_7152

5. Booking a flight

When booking a flight, for some reason all flights are cheaper on Tuesday’s.

4. Shoes

To keep the rest of your clothes getting dirty from your shoes, put your shoes in a shower cap. This will keep all of the dirt inside of the shower cap and your clothes clean!

3. Jewelry

We all know that packing jewelry can be a pain in the ass, so to keep your necklaces from tangling up, lay them out on a sheet of Glad press n’ seal. Once all laid out, place another sheet on top, seal them together and your jewelry isn’t going anywhere.

2. Separate your clean and dirty clothes

Pack a trash back in your suitcase so that you keep your clean and dirty clothes separate.

1. Hot tools

Pack an oven mitt so that you can throw your curling iron or straighter in it while it is still hot!

Aren’t you glad that you read this? I helped you, right?

I hope that this post helped you in one way or another.

Safe Travels.
