Ummmm, has anyone else realized that Fourth of July is around the corner? For those of you who do not live in the United States, July fourth is the day that America declared it’s independence! We celebrate with fireworks, pool parties and barbecues. Most of show our pride by wearing the colors of our flag and listen to great songs about our country. So in honor of our celebration, I have created a fun and patriotic makeup look for all of you! I had a ton of fun coming up with this look, it took me a couple of tries to figure out what I wanted, but I finally did it. This is a very bold day or night look, but don’t be scared to give it a try. I hope that you all enjoy this post, as much as I enjoyed putting it together. If you have already created something similar, I would love to check it out. Leave the link in the comments and I will give it some love. Now let’s get started with the good stuff.
Before I applied any face makeup, I created my eye look. This blue eye shadow got all over the place! If you choose to apply your face first, be very careful, you don’t want to look like you got attacked by a smurf. I like to apply tape underneath my eyes to create a sharp, crisp line. If you are confused when I say apply tape, I will leave a link explaining that. I am horrible with explanations, you can check that out on my Pinterest. From there, I created a wing with a blue eye shadow, feel free to use a blue eyeliner if you have one. It might be easier to apply, but I don’t own a blue liner. I should really get one, it would have made things a lot easier. Anyway… The next step was applying that same blue shadow in my crease, for those of you that are not comfortable, feel free to skip that step. My “winged liner” kept transferring to my lid so I went ahead and placed it in the crease. If you can’t beat them, join them! Once that you have blue all over the place, I applied some false eyelashes, just to glam the look up a little. I feel like falsies can make or break a make up look. They just give so much life to your creation, it is unreal!
OK, so now that you are satisfied with the blue and are out of your comfort zone, it is time to apply the rest of your face. My face consists of; moisturizer, concealer, foundation, setting powder, bronzer, blush, highlight and eyebrows. I have a post on the products that I use on a everyday basis, I will leave the link to that here. Once I completed my usual face stuff, I felt like this look needed a little more jazz to it. I took a glittery liquid liner, this one is from E.L.F, I applied it to the tops of my cheek bones like a highlighter. I feel more like myself now. Ahh, sparkles! If glitter doesn’t make you happy, you are not considered a human, I don’t know what you are.
Now for the fun, yet most complicated part of this look as a whole. The application of red lipstick, try to keep it on your lips and off of your elbows. If you accidentally get it on other parts of your face (or body), like I do every time, just cover it with a small (or a large) amount of your foundation. I used a liquid lipstick from Colourpop and a CoverGirl gloss on top. After that you look more patriotic than ever before! You can sing a little a song, preferably a Toby Keith one and feel free to do a little dance. Now put on your party clothes, change outfits at least two more times and then go have fun! I got this cute top at Charlotte Russe in the Plus Size section. They had American flag tops and all kinds of patriotic fashion items there! Cute stuff and amazing sales, you will thank me later.
Thank you all for reading this post, I hope that you liked it. Remember this is a fun look, not my everyday look, so please be nice. If any of you recreate this look, I would love to see it! Please tag me on Instagram, Twitter, wherever! I love you all, until next time!
