Hello everyone! Today I am bringing to you all my skin care routine. This routine is something that works for my normal to dry skin. I hope that some of you find this post helpful! Now, let’s jump right in!
Wash my face!
I like to use an exfoliate scrub cleanser to wash my face, since I wear makeup often, I feel like an exfoliant product helps to remove whatever is left on my face. This one is from Walmart and super inexpensive!
This product can be used for many things, but I like to use it as a part of my skin care routine. Before I wash my face, I like to use this to take off all of my makeup. It breaks down the mascara and just helps all of the makeup come right off. After I have washed my face, I like to go in with the coconut oil again, and apply a generous amount to my face. I leave it on for about 5 minutes and then wipe it off. You would be surprised how much stuff this product removes.
One all of that coconut oil is off I like to apple some type of lip butter or chapstick, this one is from the Fresh Picked collection at Bath and Body Works. It’s super hydrating and smells like strawberries.
Last, but not least, I use some type of mask!
I tend to get a lot of blackheads, so I gravitate towards a mud or charcole mask. These types of masks unclog pores! While I wait for my mask to dry, I like to clean up around the house or watch a show!

Hello there, if you are reading this post, then obviously something caught your attention. Could it be the makeup? Or the fact that the title has the word ani in it? Well whatever it may be, I am glad that you stopped by!
Welcome everyone, I have created an anti-Valentine’s Day makeup look for all of you! I have been seeing this look being created all over YouTube. I had never seen this before this year and thought that it looked very interesting. I hope that you enjoy it, if you have already created a version of this, I would love to see it! Make sure to tag me on Instagram @bakersfieldbeautyblogger.
If you want to figure out how I got this makeup look, then keep on reading!
For this eye look, I used two eyeshadow pallets; one being the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eyes pallet, and the other being the Urban Decay MoonDust. I just love both of these pallet, you can create all kinds of looks! If you don’t have either of these pallets, you can still create this look as long as you have some brow, black, and glitter eyeshadow!
This look is really easy, but it contains a lot of blending and is very time consuming. I do have to say that this look may seem scary, but don’t knock it until you try it! There is always a first time to try something new.
For any eyeshadow look, I like to start out with a light brown shadow in my crease, once that is blended out, I will slowly start to add black shadow on top of that brown. I make sure and only apply a little of the black at a time. It is a lot easier to build it than to take it away.
Once the black shadow is to my liking and blended out, I am going to add the white shadow to my brow bone to give it a little pop!
Next I am packing on the glitter shadow of my choice to my lid. I am also being very careful when applying it. Glitter tends to get EVERYWHERE! I am sure that I am going to find glitter in my room two months from now.
Now it’s time to move on to the lower lash line. Since this look is very dark and mysterious, I added black liner in my water line. Then I took some black eyeshadow and ran it right underneath that liner.
I also took that same white shadow that I put on the brow bone, and popped it into the inner corner of the eyes. Since the eyeshadow is so dark, I want to brighten it just a little.
Once that is complete, it is time to throw on some lashes and get them ready for falsies.
Now it is time to pop on some false lashes and BAMM!!! I look good!
Ahhhh!! Back with another product review post! I love these types of posts, I get to try out new products and fall in love! Today’s feature is from a brand that I have reviewed in the past. Tara Lee Natural Beauty, is an amazing all natural, skin care line. All of her products are sold on Etsy. I reviewed her Charcole Clay Mask. AMAZING. If you would like to read that, I will leave that right here for your enjoyment!
I love makeup, but skin care is just as important! Taking care of your skin, helps keep the canvas that we paint; nice, clean and smooth! I have tried out just a few of the many products that are available in Tara Lee’s shop. I will have all of these products linked, so that you can try them out yourself!
I would love to start this review by saying, the products come very well packaged! They are in plastic tubs, twist off lid, and are extra sealed with tape for the traveling. That way, when you receive your products, you don’t have to worry about any of it being spilled out.
This mask comes in a poweder form, you mix with a little water, and then apply to the face. I love the fact that it come as a powder. I feel like the product won’t be wasted that way. Sometimes when the clay masks are already mixed, they can dry out fast. If you don’t properly close the lid, or of you leave the lid off for a long time, it tends to harden faster. The scent of this product isn’t too overpowering, which I love, that way you aren’t too scared to wear it because of the smell.
I like to apply this mask when I am cleaning my house, I call it multi-tasking!
I have the Herbal Whipped Salt Scrub and the Whipped Sugar Scrub. I love scrubs in general, but the Whipped Sugar Scrub is my FAVORITE! It smells like lemon cake batter, I love lemon cake. It contains coconut oil, so it doesn’t dry out your skin. It’s a scrub, so that means that it exfoliates. It is just an all around great product!
The Herbal Scrub is just as good, the only difference is that it contains herbs. When you first open the product, you will find the herbal smell, and a small amount of the herbs right on top!
The cool thing about these scrubs, you can choose the color that you want and the ounces!
Sea Kelp Mask:
This is an Organic Sea Kelp Mask, or a seaweed mask, and it helps to purify the skin. This mask has the same concept of the others, you mix it with water and then apply to the face. You can also customize the masks to your liking. There are some extra add ons and different ingredients that are available. I leave the mask on until it is completely dry and then wash it away with warm water. No redness, just a clean smiling face! Again, what I love about her products, is that the scents are not too over powering.
There are 31 different items to choose from in her shop. Next I want to try out her Strawberry Sugar Scrub and the Eye Brightening Makeup Remover!
Tara has been so kind and has give me a discount code to share with you! If you use “TARALEEBEAUTY” at checkout, you don’t have to pay for shipping! I know that you are just dying to try these products out! I hope that you enjoyed this product review and if there are any more products that you would like for me to test for you, just let me know!

My first attempt at a step by step eye shadow tutorial.. not bad right? Hello everyone! I promised more makeup posts, so here you go!
This look is perfect for a party, special event, or just because! I hope that you enjoy!
Transition shades are always a good step. Light browns or skin tone eyeshadow are good transition colors. This step makes it easier to transition from a lighter shade of eyeshadow, into a darker shade. I make sure and blend the light brown like it’s no ones business.
Once that light brown is all blended, I went in with a deep cranberry color to blend right in with that first shade. I cannot tell you how important it is to blend. Keep on blending!
The step that helps create this smokey eye, is the dark outer corner. On a very small blending brush, I picked up some black eyeshadow and slowly started blending that into the outer V of the eye. I am making sure to take my time on this part, black eyeshadow can be very tricky to work with.
Once that black is all blended to my liking, I went in with a light, shimmer berry color and packed that onto the lid.
To brighten up this look a little, I went in with a highlight shade and placed that right under my brow bone. This just gives the smokey eye a little bit of something extra. Another trick to opening up the eyes a little, is to add the highlight shade to the inner corners of the eyes.
After that was all completed, I threw on some mascara and a little highlight on my cheeks. This is my finished look! I hope that you enjoyed it! Smokey eyes are my favorite looks to create.
The pallet that I used for this tutorial is the Morphe X Kathleen Lights Pallet.

Some of you may think that this is a lot of sequins, and you are probably right. Two years ago if you would of told me that I would be wearing this dress, I probably would of laughed in your face. It’s a good thing that my outlook on fashion has changed. I’m not afraid to stand out, you shouldn’t be either. I live to sparkle and shine, and I won’t let anything stop me from doing so.
I would like to give a special thanks to Trina for collaborating with me on this post. You are seriously amazing and I love you so much.
